Temptations is what it is. First of all it is not as it has been labeled as a "swingers" resort. This is no Desire or Hedo. There is topless women and lots of sexy fun, and I'm sure there are people hooking up, but it is not a swingers resort. Temptations is not a 5 star resort, but it is very good. We have been twice and will go back. It is probably a 3.5 star place, and for the price is a very good deal. I don't understand all of the negative reviews on here. We talked to many people that have been here 10+ times and keep coming back. Is it perfect ? NO. It's a 3.5. The price makes this place well worth it. We stayed 6 days and 5 nights plus airfare was only $1600.00. A bargain. The resort was
85% full and everyone was having a great time. There are good and not so good things about this or any resort. I've been to Sandals and Beaches and Temptations rates at least as good or better than those. Below is a list of good and not so good. I'm not going to list all the good things and services at Temptations. Go to their website and they give all the daily activities etc.

GOOD
1. The pools are awesome. ( They are open 8a.m to 9 p.m.) they do not close at 5 p.m. as some people have said.
2. The activities. There are many from horseshoes to volleyball and basketball to sexy pool games. Something for everyone.
3. The rooms are all remodeled and are very nice.( The beds are firm to hard ) We were told we could get a gel pad that fits on the bed, but we we always so tired that the bed was fine for us. Our room A/C was ice cold and it did not smell like some on here have said. We brought air freshener, but did not need it. The refridgerator is stocked with beer, soda, and water free of charge and replaced each morning.
4. The food. A lot has been said on here about the food. I suppose if you are here 7 to 10 days it could get old, but we stayed 3 days the first time and 5 days this trip, so the food didn't get old to us. Since the hotel wasn't 100% full no reservations were required at the restaurants. You just showed up and gave them your room number. There is a liberal dress code. No sleeveless shirts and no pool flip-flops or swimsuits. Other than that you are ok. for the most part. They have an Italian,Chinese,Tex-Mex and Up scale restaurants that are all above average to excellent. The buffet is set up for breakfast, lunch, & dinner. There is typical buffet selections for all 3. Temptations has guests from all over the world, so they try to cater to all people.
5. No kids. All adult. We love kids we have 3 of our own. We take them on vacation each year, but we also want to be able to spend time away from them and any other kids that might be around. The people at this resort were in their 20's to 50's. Both times we ahve been here it was a great ,fun crowd. No drama and lots of happy people.
6. Topless resort. My wife loves to sunbathe topless. In most parts of the world this is a non issue. In Oklahoma and most of the U.S. this is frowned upon. At Temptations you can be topless and no one really cares. About 75% of the women are in fact topless at times during the day.
7. The staff. They all work hard to make sure you have a great vacation. If you need something, just ask.
8. Go on the Friday booze cruise. It was great.

Not so good.

1. They do try to sell time shares to the resort and use different tactics to get you to their seminars. Offers of free anything should be a tip to avoid them. Simply tell them you are not interested and they will leave you alone.
2. Nighttime activities are limited because they want you to go out with them on their nightly club trips. ( they are fun, but cost and get old after 1 or 2 nights ).
3. The ocean. You are on the Gulf of Mexico side, so the ocean is green and not ocean blue like on the other side, but they work hard to keep the seaweed cleaned up off the beach and we enjoyed the beach activities alot.
4. Tipping. I did tip sometimes, but to be honest, I didn't notice service to be any better or worse than when you tipped or didn't.
5. The alchohol. The drinks were fine with us. She drinks mixed drinks and I stuck to beer or the occasional margarita. People on here complain that the drinks are weak. Of course they are a little weak. People are drinking from sun-up to sun-down. They are trying to save you from yourself. If you want a stronger drink, just tell them and they will make it as strong as you like.
6. Like I said earlier the beds are firm to hard. If you need a soft bed to sleep, you could be in trouble.
7. The O'Pattys bar in the middle of the resort is going strong from 6 p.m. until about
4 a.m. Loud music and lots of people having loud fun. We had a room right next to the bar and with the t.v and a/c on you could barely hear it, but you still could at times. If you don't want to be around this, make sure you request to be in the quiet section of the resort.

We like Temptations and we will come back. Hopefully soon.

Well where do we start, First of all they make a higher commision than the airport off of converting your american dollars to peso and will not give you american money back if you need change. You will need change because everyone expects a tip there. The rooms are really really humid and its impossible to get a dehumidifier from the hotel and yes they do have them.((( The breakfast tour that they ask you to go on is great if you are looking to waste 5 hours of your vaction getting pushed into a time share. The next issue that you will notice is that pools all close at 9:00pm and they will throw you out if you go in. Also dont look for any night life all the parties end at 10:00pm and they try to get you to go to the bars outside of the club. Probably because they make a cut off of who ever they send over there. The dress code for the restaurants is a little bit of a hassel. I under stand no shorts and t-shirts but I dont understand why they harrass you about wearing nice leather sandles or flip flops.Pool bartenders get pissed when you dont tip eveyday even if you drop $20.00 american on the first day. I mean come on, where are you suppose to keep money on you considering it is a pool bar. One other problem is that it is considered an adult resort but you have to watch out that kids dont walk up to the pool from the beach. The beds are like sleeping on concrete slabs. food was okroom was okemployees were hit or miss some were great some you felt like you were bothering them. Dont get us wrong we did have a great time just want to fill in others of what to expect. We gave you the negatives now here are the positives. 1. The resort is very clean and well maintained.2. The beach is very clean but the water does have a lot of sea weed which they can not possibly control they were out there every morning fighting it back.3. The rooms have a very sexy and modern look to them.4. The cleaning ladies did a great job keeping our room clean. 5. The food was not bad it was ten times better than Hedo in Jamacia.6. Pool was cleaned every moring.7. plenty of private places on the beach to cuddle. All in all we did have a lot of fun.

Im going back as soon as I can!..

We had a room closest to the sexy pool... a room in the 3100's had easy access to the pool... Room was clean and nicely renovated.. beds werent the best but it did its job.. showers were nice and big... channel 12 and 14 is the shhht!......

Restaurants were amaaaazing.. best i've ever had in any resort I've been to... really surprised me!.. I've stayed at Riu's.. Bahia Principe's.. Dream's and Barcelo Resorts and I honestly can say I've never had a better a la carte... Italian, Asian and Seafood are great.. Missed out on the Mexican which supposedly had the ribeye steak I woulda loved to try... The buffet is good... not the biggest selection but definitely has something for everyone... Lobster and snow crab's included!...

There are 3 pools... the sexy pool.. quiet pool and the sports pool... the sexy pool had really good entertainment if you have an open mind... drinking games to mr and miss temptations contests were fun to watch... The margarita bar was pretty nice.. its close to the lobby and nicely decorated... Very nice vibe there!.. There's a games room with bar... 2 pool tables.. tv and a few other games... There is a theatre but i didnt bother checking in...

Lastly... i have to mention that we did catch the Swingers group during our stay.. Had no problems with any encounters with them but I must say... some of them need to keep their clothes ON..... Once they left.. the pool area looked real nice.. there was actually a good percentage of nice bodies... haha =)

We researched which hotel to stay at in Cancun for weeks as there are so many to choose from. The reviews of Temptation seemed in the main to be good so we booked one week of our two week stay there as it looked modern and lively.

We were a little apprehensive as we were not sure whether or not it was a swingers hotel based on the reviews that were posted before our trip and that was not what we were looking for. I wanted to write a review that was clear about what this hotel is as my fears were realised when we arrived, this IS a swingers resort, they may be trying to change the hotels reputation but some guests obviously keep returning year after year so they can’t stop it. I should have guessed from the name but I naively thought it was just because it was an adults only hotel. Don’t get me wrong, not everyone is into it and you can keep yourself to yourself as there are lovely sun beds down the beach away from the main pool and bar where you can just lay and watch the ocean and read in peace and quiet but I have to admit I did feel quite uncomfortable for most of our stay.

If the swingers don’t put you off booking this hotel, or that is what you are looking for, then the hotel is actually quite nice for the money but only a three star, not four, as some websites suggest.

The rooms are ok, they look nice on the photos but do look a bit cheap when you get there, the bathrooms are not that nice and really quite small. The first room we got was awful, it was on the ground floor, really dark and had an alley way for its outside space but we complained after one night and they moved us to a room that was much better. There is a free mini bar in the room but it just includes coke and lemonade, you get one bottle of water for your stay free of charge and then you have to buy it from the shop which really wound me up. The room was cleaned most days but not every day.

The complex is not particularly pretty, they were painting it and doing a lot of maintenance when we were there which was a bit annoying but I guess they will have finished that by now. The hotel does have a party atmosphere with lots of people gathering in the main bar at night which was nice as some hotels go dead on an evening.

The food at the restaurants on the evening were fantastic, definitely 5 star standard which was the saving grace for this hotel in my mind. Lunch was nice too but breakfast was really poor, after day one we just didn’t bother eating at breakfast.

The entertainment needs you to have an open mind, naked volleyball by day, strippers and lingerie poker by night (and it wasn’t the pretty young guests that came to the bar in their lingerie that night!). Again, you can keep away from it if it’s not your thing but if this doesn’t appeal to you and you are after a romantic break with a partner I suggest booking a different hotel.

Cancun and the Riviera Maya are both fantastic places and I’d recommend making the trip just maybe not to this hotel unless you are looking for a holiday with a lot of drinking and nudity!

I just got back from my trip to Temptation Resort and my wife and I had the best time. We've been married for 16 years and with kids, work and all the stresses of a tough economy things between us were getting a little 'stale'.

Just a few hours at the resort had us energized again. With no kids, no bills to talk about and no reasons to think about anything other than each other, things between us really started to heat up again.

The resort is clean and nice (not luxury) but a ton of fun. The resort staff actually encourages the guests to get out of their pool chairs and participate in the crazy fun games.

I could never had got my wife to go because she read the bad reports and reviews on the Internet, but I found a copy of Temptation Resort Report and they told it like it was. It dispelled all the rumors about swingers lurking in the corners and everyone running around naked. Everything sexy or crazy at the resort was done in good taste with entertainment in mind. We never felt threatened or unsafe.

We're now, madly in love again and I'm going to be a better Dad to the kids and husband to her so she can relax like she did at Temptation Resort last week.

The Temptation Resort Report also had a coupon code in it that allowed us to stay for about 50% off what we found on other travel sites.

We're going back this winter---hope to see you there.
