We got back from Sea Adventure resort last week. What a great place - beautiful scenery, good waterpark, mini golf, good food, great facilities and very friendly & helpful staff.
Great welcome with drinks of Tequila! Bus and taxi services on doorstep.
Plenty of day time activities provide variety and fun while you catch the sun. The animation team were great, making you feel welcome & involved - they work hard through the day as well as providing shows and evening entertainment too. Keep up the good work! Must see Michael Jackson Tribute, what a treat, amazing evening!
Hotel Facilities - great with use of a gym, tennis courts, mini golf, water park, water sports (kayak etc) heated outdoor pool with swim up bar and jacuzzi's. Additional features were on site shop(s) and Internet access.
Rooming - ours was spacious and clean (daily maid service) and a selection of English T.V channels too. We had a balcony with jacuzzi overlooking the sea and harbour view - breathtaking view every morning - delightful! The staff were always cleaning and improving the up keep of the hotel.
The food - The 'Oyster' A La Carte Restaurant was excellent (you have to book in for this, also take a jacket, a bit cold though with the air con!) the food was superb. In the main restaurant there was also good choice of food and drinks available from the bar.
The Beach - this was accessed directly from the hotel - pleasant (although lot of seaweed) and couple of hammocks make it relaxing and enjoyable. The sun loungers (round pool area & beach) were not the best though. The ones over at the waterpark are far better!
Overall we loved our holiday here with plenty of activities to keep us entertained. We would definitely go back back again and recommend to others.

Room tip: 313B Balcony with jacuzzi overlooking the sea and harbour view.

We just returned from a week stay at the Sea Adventure Resort. We reserved a superior room. The hotel has two parts, the main building by the ocean, and four apartment like buildings that are located across the street, adjacent to the water park. The room we were given was small but very clean. Even though it was a Christmas/New Years week and the hotel was packed, I inquired about an upgrade, which I was willing to pay for (I did slip the front desk clerk $20) but next day we were given a beautiful and very spacious ocean view room without any extra charge. This is an older property and if you are looking for luxury, this is not the place for you. The rooms are very clean and comfortable but what makes this place great is the staff and the activities available for kids. There are planned activities for pretty much every hour of the day (water balloon fights, water polo, dancing and cooking lessons, water yoga, all day kids club etc.) the water park is super fun (even for adults:-)) and the dinner shows are great. The food selection is not huge but they do their best at mixing things up every day, so there is always something new to try. The hotel staff is however what makes this place truly amazing. We travel quite a bit and we have never encountered more helpful or friendlier staff. They work very hard and very long hours to make your stay pleasant and they do it with a smile on their face. This hotel is quite a way from the hotel zone, and if you are looking to shop, there really isn't anything close by. However, there is some great shopping at Isla Mujeres, a nearby island that could be seen from the beach. You can book a catamaran tour directly through the hotel. It starts at 10 am and ends at 5 pm. It includes a 30 minute stop for snorkeling, about an hour for shopping on the island, and another hour for lunch which is included. The cost is $59 for adults and $30 for children. If you decide to sit through one of the hotels time share presentations, you can save about $20 per person. If you decide to take a trip to Isla Mujeres, I would recommend taking the ferry (water taxi). It's about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, the cost is approx. $14 per person, and it’s much faster that the catamaran and you are not time restricted as the ferry runs every hour into late evening.
The beach is small and does have a lot of seaweed but they do try very hard to clean it every day. The one thing I was not thrilled with were the pool loungers. They are obviously very old and worn out and in serious need of being replaced. The loungers at the water park are great and seem to be brand new.
If you have kids and want to have fun vacation, give this place a try.

What can I say we had the time of our life's. When we first arrived we were greeted by an amazing man who took us right to the lounge for a tequila shooter hahahaha then escorted us with bags in hand to our unbelievable room. We over looked the marina and every night the sunset was amazing as well as the lights across the water looking out towards the strip of Cancun. We arrived in time for the show and dinner which was the pirates of the Caribbean, too much fun. We me Ben and Erica who were a blast to hang out with. After the show was a deck party where we met Paul, Simon, Amie and Kayliegh. What a blast we had we all hung out for the rest of the trip. The Blue Bay rooms, well ours was amazing big kitchen large living room and a large Bedroom and bathroom. Always left nice and clean. The staff were excellent, anything you needed they were there to help. The food was really good with a all night snack bar what could be more fun. All of the adventures we went on were a blast, make sure you go to the island of the goddess. As well as Xcarta so much fun. All in all we had such a nice time and will return someday. Looking forward to trying other places but will always return to the Bluebay. Thank you to all the staff who made it so much fun.
Anna :)

Im still here and want right now to run away to another hotel. The hotel is too far from the hotel zone. Isolated and has a terrible beach area...i didint swim at even once and i have been here for almost a week.
You can not leave the hotel unless you take a cab because it is located in a dark and isolated area.
The food is bad (and i paied 2.200 dollars only for the all inclusive - besides what i paied for the room) for me, my husband and my 8 years son).
The pool is small and the wtarpark has broken parts that make it dangerous. The waterpark is not opened only for guests but for locals also.
The service is terrible!!! I bought a trip to go to chichen itza and although i was waiting at the lobby, they told me they came to pick me up 3 times and i was not there. Detail: it was at 7:30 in the morning ant there were less than 5 people at the lobby.
They said they called my room...and i was not there! If i wasnt at mey room at 7 in the morning, its because i was at the lobby waiting for the tour guide.
Although i have bought the tour inside the hotel, they did NOTHING to help me to get my money back and i lost 50 dollars.
They treated me like i was the wrong one and thats it.
They were so rude that i even cried...cried so much that i never ever want to come back to mexico.
I HATE SEA ADVENTURE! RUDE PEOPLE, horrible service.

We just got back from the resort last night (stayed there from Dec 16-23).

First of all all the POSITIVES: super clean, no musty smells in the room (we had a mini-suite on the 4th floor with the ocean view - definitely worth the extra buck!), staff - extremely helpful, polite and always smiling. Room service - great! - always fresh towels, extra clean room and came whenever was called right away. Pool - HEATED!!! no one actually mentioned it (well, at least I didn't find any mentioning of it), which is a GREAT feature, especially for night time. The depth is great for all ages. Kids club - my daughter loved it! Shows - awesome (Michael Jackson show was a huge hit!). Food - I found the selection to be a bit limited, HOWEVER, EVERYTHING was very tasty and always fresh. Check-in - fantastic! (we got our room right away although arrived way earlier then 3 pm. Alcohol - imported and not domestic (well, maybe some of it:-)) The beach does have a lot of seaweed, but there's nothing that can be done.

Negatives - didn't really find any.

Overall - a really great experience and I would defiantly recommend it to families with kids!

Room tip: take room 425!
