“Wonderful experience!”

I definitely would recomend this beautiful hotel to everyone that wants to spend a wonderful, peaceful and secluded vacation in Cancun. It is not like all those big hotels that make you feel like you are just another guest. People that work there are very friendly, they make you feel like royalty, they are amazing! I rented a room with ocean view, and it was great, a few steps and I was enjoying the colors of the caribean, I felt like I had my own home with private beach. I have been there twice and probably I am going to organize my wedding there for sure. I now thank the lady that reccomended this hotel to me, by doing so I discovered one of my favorite spots for leisure.

“Cute but beware of cash!”

I was told that it was a "gay" resort. Cute studio on the beach with little beach area. Nice as I was on my own and needed to get away from the big city. However I was robbed by the plumber on arrival. Do not leave any wallets or cash anywhere it will get knicked. Not much service and food was ordinary.

“Bad food”

We stayed AI for 2 weeks in Jan. 2005. According to the descriptions of the hotel it should be one of the most exclusive resorts in Cancun, but service and particularly the food don't correspond to this claim.
The rooms are clean and well equipped, the garden is beautiful, pool and beach are well tended. But half of the sunshades are defective because they are cavernous. Some of the sunloungers were broken and have not been repaired or exchanged. The staff partly tries to "earn" money where possible, e.g. altough we had AI a waitress demanded 3 US$ for a bottle of water at our first day.
The biggest blemish is the food: every day chicken, the same sort of fish, pasta, the same vegetable and fruit-mix. For breakfast they offerd every morning baked potatoes, scrambled eggs, bean mush and saucages. From time to time bread from the day before was warmed up. You have to pay attention that the drinks (also Coke and table water) consist half of crushed ice. All in all I can't recommend this hotel.

“Friendly Gem of a Hotel”

My husband and I stayed at Villas Tacul in April of '04 and booked a two bedroom suite, which was a little pricey, but what the heck. It was a little casita style accommodation with separate sleeping area and a very Mexican style dining room and kitchen. Very quiet, very private. The beach was nice, but they definitely need more lounge chairs. We thought the landscaping was beautiful with each casita clustered in a horseshoe shape around the grounds, which included gardens, small man-made streams and the tennis court, which we used every day. We ended up eating every night at the restaurant onsite, and the food was fantastic and the service amazing. If we didn't finish an entree, they would wrap up leftovers and include more than we had actually left on the plate! Booked a massage at the beach, which was excellent -- as good as we've had anywhere else. Check-in was flawless and the staff was very friendly. I'd stay here again!
