“Nice, big rooms, lovely pool, great location and fantastic staff...a pleasure to stay here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2010

Having booked relatively last minute I was AMAZED by the quality of the fairly budget-priced Sina Suites: the rooms were enormous and the beds comfy, the staff were immensely courteous and helpful and the facilities of pool, restaraunt/conference room and little pool-side bar were all you could really ask for!

The location is just a 15 min leisurely stroll (3min bus journey) to the big party area of Cancun or in the opposite direction a 15min bus ride to the old town and the markets there. Either way the busses stop just at the top of the road both going and coming (though on the way to the old town you have to walk about 200m on the far side of the road to reach the stop...no real problem!). Theres a golf course right next door too if thats your game and it looked nicely maintained.

The area is very peaceful and the impression is of a real safe haven. Just around the corner is a trio of eateries which turn-out delicious local food and drinks and are open at the usual times with one, "Las Chicas Quesadillas" (although I think I've got the name horribly wrong) staying open pretty late if you need a snack. There is also an invaluable supermarket where you can get food to cook in the litle apartments at Sina Suites where the kitchens are well equipped (pots, pans, knives, forks...) and functional. There is also a little kiosk nearer to the Sina suites but its a little more pricey.

All in all I found everything I was looking for here and I would happily reccomend this as a spot for old and young, sightseer and partygoer: I think all could co-exist quite happily here as the size and layout of the place meant that I hardly saw or heard anyone else from the party I was travelling with all week, and there were 18 of us!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

“Great service and fantastic pool - just be prepared for hard beds and loud air conditioning.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2010

We chose this hotel to recover from the gruelling 36 hours of travel from New Zealand and relax we did. The grounds of Sina Suites are just magnificent and as we were the only guests for 2 of the 3 days we were there, this meant we had the beautiful pool to ourselves and were spoilt by the owner who dropped us into town on the second day. The breakfasts were lovely (included in the rate). However, we did really struggle with the bed - it was similar to a plank of wood (although this is a common theme as we travelled through Mexico so tended to get used to it) and whilst we did have air conditioning, it was like the sound of an aeroplane taking off (if you were standing on the runway) and it did prevent us from getting much sleep when it was on. There is a bus stop just at the end of the road so we didn't have a problem catching public transport and we enjoyed being based out of the Zona Hotelera - a much quieter spot. While Sina Suites did not have a restaurant, there was a lovely restaurant close by and they did amazing grilled fish!. All in all, the helpful service and lovely pool outweighed the hard beds and lack of sleep.

“Friendly, clean & (for Cancun) cheap - great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2009

Small, squeaky clean suites hotel on the lagoon with friendly & super-helpful owners who run it themselves. Comfortable beds, hot showers with great water pressure & excellent security - its a little dated so if you want a resort or Hilton this isn´t for you - but if you just want somewhere clean & comfortable to stay where the owners go out of their way to help you´ll love it.
Walking distance to bus & old town restaurants - Hacienda is fun & steaks are good - and to Carlos & Charlies & the zona hotellera restaurants & bars if that´s your thing...

“Sina Suites... all you need when partying in Cancun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2007

I've stayed at Sina Suites on 2 different occasions and would do so again. Sina Suites is a 3-star hotel conveniently located in an upscale residential nieghborhood next to the golf course facing the lagoon. I would strongly recommend Sina to young people who are going
to Cancun strictly to party, to large groups or people who want to save money by having huge 2-bedroom suites that accomodate 6 guests or the couple who don't need all the 5-star amenities or don't want to pay the 5-star prices. If you're seeking a resort style place, a romantic get-away, an all-inclusive deal, the infinity pool and acres
of landscaping...look elsewhere. Sina's location is simply perfect, with a 5 minute walk to restaurants, grocery stores, bus stop and a 10 minute walk to the convention center, all the nightlife and hotspots in Cancun (location is known as "La Punta" or "The peak"); it's right in the middle of the hotel zone but doesn't have the feel.
We would go down to the grocery store and stock up our fridge with alcohol, had plenty for the entire stay! The rooms are very spacious,
especially the 2-bedroom suites. You have plenty of beds, huge living
area with various bathrooms, kitchen and balconies. The cool is clean
and decent size, enough to chill there. The staff is very helpful, speak good English and give out the best whole-in-the wall, homeade cooking restaurants that are in the area, where you get the best bang for the buck, and not these chain, pricey restaurants that serve
crappy food (hint, hint: Senor Frogs, Carlos & Charlies, etc). I would definitely consider Sina Suites, don't be fooled by the color of their bed linen or the simplicity of their website. The place is really taken care of and it's in a very safe neighborhood, perfect for the people who like to explore on their own and who like to walk; we never needed to catch the bus or a cab, unless we were going very far. The place is locally owned and the owner, which lives
on-site, is very proud and particular about the accomodations they offer and service they provide; you have a problem, you complain directly to him... you don't call some 800 number or your travel agent when you get back.

If you're use to staying at hotels like The Peninsula or Ritz Carlton
or The W, this is not the place for you. But if you're the type of person that like the above stuff, then you'll be thankful you booked here. Good luck and happy travels!

  • Liked — Huge size, great location; best baang for the buck.
