“Great with one problem”

This was a great resort. The food in the buffet was good except one night, Caribbean night, which I did not enjoy although my wife enjoyed it, different tastes. The Italian restaurant was excellent. The rooms were great, although the bed and sofa were hard.Everything at the resort was very clean. The main problem was the lack of lounge chairs and palapas both at the pool and at the beach. On our first day we did not realize you had to claim your spot by 730 or you were out of luck. We ended up using plastic chairs for outside a , not a very comfortable day. While there is little room at the pool for additional facilities, there is plenty of room at the beach to add facilities. The pool area and beach were nice especially on following days when we had lounge chairs. One other issue is very expensive WIFI which wasn't always working while we were there. The front desk personnel advised using the business office computers since there was no refund on the WIFI if it didn't work.
The resort was quite which we enjoy.

Room Tip: Request premier suites, they are much larger than rooms in the tower

“Entertainment great! Front Desk So-So”

We stayed at the Grand Park Royal Cancun Caribe from 01/31/12-02/09/12. The hotel was awesome. I would definitely stay there again. The front desk people and the price of internet were the reasons I didn't give the highest score. (Except for Sylvia, she was very customer friendly and went out of her way to make our stay wonderful.) The pool-side and night-time entertainment was teriffic. Diego, Carlos, Gustavo, and Monique were the best on-site entertainment I had ever seen. If my travels take me back to Cancun, I would stay here again.

Room Tip: If you want free internet, go to the stairs at the end of the Premier building and get it from the n...

“Excellent food, average accomodations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

This review is based on the trip my wife and I took with 2 other couples for a week - January 29 - February 3. We had an Ocean View room in the original building on the top floor, the view was spectacular and the room was very clean, but the bed was rather hard, balcony was small (only wide enough for a chair sideways) and the water / shower would go off randomly. The mini bar consisted of 6 sodas and 2 Coronas. Even though we didnt spend much time in the room, it could have been better.

Room service had a limited menu, but the food was quite good and sent to our room within 20 minutes, very speedy.

The staff was very good, very nice and providing anything you asked for, no questions asked. Only thing is they can speak a little more English, especially being a resort where many Americans go to.

The food quality was exceptional for an all-inclusive. THe Italian restaurant was the best by far and the Oriental was also quite good. The seafood (La Concha) was above average, but they seem to use the same fish, tilapia maybe, for each of their dishes with a different sauce. Dont forget to hit the Cafe Sole, the Ice Cream is great and they have mini sandwiches to hold you over. There is also a snack bar with burgers and hot dogs, thats pretty good as well.

When your done stuffing your face and need to wash it down, definitely hit the swim up bar. Roberto took care of us and kept the shots coming. Some advice, if you see the brand of alcohol you like, ask for it, they tend to use generic liquor versus Stoli, Belvedere, etc... and ask for an extra shot, they will be more than happy to assist. The buddha bar in the lobby is open until 1AM, but the ambience is somewhat chill, so dont fall asleep.

The location was good, within walking distance to the Flea Market, Senor Frogs and Coco Bongo area. The bus also stops in front of the hotel and is a 2 minute ride.

The beach is great, very wide, but they are lacking beach chairs. For a resort of this size, there was about 40 chairs and no palapas on the beach near the water. Also, there is no wait service on the beach, so you need to trek back to the resort for a cold one.

The atmosphere was OK. The music in the buddha / lobby bar was more of a lounge with Kenny G type of instrumentals playing. The Ekinox lounge had more action with its own bar and it overlooks the main road. Both are open until 1AM.

Comparing this to the Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana, my only other all-inclusive, I would say this is just an above average resort. I am no club rat, but there was no onsite club. No shops for shopping and the daily entertainment was lacking, usually going from 8:30 - 10 when most people are dining.

I don't know if I would go back, but its not the resort, but Cancun. we are in our mid 30s and just expected a little more.

“I LOVED THIS RESORT!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I was very impressed with this resort. The cleanliness, location, food and drink selection was wonderful. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating. I especially liked how relaxing this resort was. The bartenders, Roberto and Jesus had such a great relationship with the guests. Their personalities were not only kind but genuine. I enjoyed the entertainment staff as well. You can tell the difference between people who do something just because it is their job and people who do what they do because they genuinely like people and care about others. I encountered a special member of the entertainment staff - Monique. She taught me how to make bracelets and we had a wonderful time. During the bracelet making, she took the time to talk to me and get to know me. She honestly became a friend of mine at the resort. I could tell she was sincere and really likes her job and interacting with the guests. I can't speak highly enough of how well the staff represented the Mexican people and their kindness and compassion for others. It is a wonderful culture which was showcased at this resort. I felt like I was part of a family there, not just a guest. I will definitely be back - I had a great time and many fond memories. And to Monique - I will keep my bracelets on as long as they will stay on.

Room Tip: I was in the premier tower and had an ocean front room. It was breath taking and beautiful.
