We spent Easter week here during 2006. We sat outside the unit for over an hour waiting for the key - then another hour while they sort of cleaned the unit. To open the door, you had to unlock it, then lift up while shoving as hard as possible with your shoulder. If you were lucky, it would open half way before totally jamming on the floor. We taught the kids to climb out the window in the event of an emergency.
The ants all over the kitchen were another indicator. The cockroaches did not come out until that night. After the first dozen cockroach sightings, we called the owner. He agreed they were disgusting and that we had a problem. His answer was to do nothing. After 20 minutes, he finally agreed to have his manager buy us a can of Raid. We had the pleasure of spraying them periodically, then cleaning up the dead ones. This is unacceptable service at any price.
Cancun is great, and the unit had a good view - once they finally cleaned the windows in mid-week. The locals were all very friendly and helpful. The construction crews never started before 8 am, and stopped by 7 pm, so you had a chance to sleep outside these hours. If you want to sleep past 8 am - forget it.
We paid a good price - and got an unclean, unsafe dump. There may be nice units in the Brisas complex, but be certain to avoid unit 5202.

We found the residents at the condo very friendly at first then it was a shock to find all types of criminal type lurking around. We were offered all types of drugs for sale and we found one man was trying to lure our young's girl into his room. She is only 9 years old. When we went to the security they said they could only report him to the management. Let me tell you, run from this place. Do not look back.

We booked this Condo Thru Price-tavel here on-Line. Don;t belive any of the photos that are posted, and don't trust the travel agency when they tell you that this place is 100% functional.
If you want to stay in a nice, safe, clean place for vacation, STAY AWAY!! We had three condos booked, because we were tavelling as a family of eight When we arrived after 13 hours of travel, the manager, Jeanne Pierre wanted to place us in different hotels, 1 KM away from each other, though he pointed to "right next door" My children stood outside for over an hour while he came up with suitable rooms, even though I had confirmed the day before, he really had nothing for us available till the following day. Then we had to move rooms again! . I was told I could get my money back if not satisfied, so when I found a new hotel, he threatened exorbitant fees, and PRICE TRAVEL did nothing whasoever to help us, in fact telling me that is was acceptable to be asked to keep changing rooms and locations. These are private condos only, with no service to speak of, lots of functional and safety problems. I would stay with a more popular named hotel with accountability.

We had a great time. In fact this was the best trip I have taken with my kids! I am a single father, and took my 4 kids to Cancun for spring break, 10, 12, 14, and 18! Yes, I am little nuts, but I have never let the fact that I am a single Dad stop me from having fun with my kids.

After reading one of the reviews below I almost canceled our booking, but I spoke with John Pierre, and he assured me that if it was not to my liking I could leave no consequences. I am glad we went. The place was great, clean and more then met our needs. There still some damage from the hurricane, of couse but nothing outrageoues. In fact every hotel on the strip was still doing repairs from the hurricane. The repairs though were minor, it was very functional. At Brisa suites, only the tennis court was still not functional, the pool and the beach were both in excellent shape.

The kids and I had a great time. I like having the kitchen, so that we could have breakfast in the room. Nothing fancy just eggs and cereal. We typically went out for dinner and lunch. One word of warning the store in the complex only stocks breakfast and snack foods, so if you plan on cooking you will need to make a trip to a large store. In addition there is not much in the way of resturants around the Brisa Suites, but fortunetly the buses run all the time, we never had to wait more then 2 min for a bus, and they are cheap about 65 cents, so getting to where the resturants and shops are is not an issue, a 5 min bus ride.

All in all this was a great trip and I recommend the Brisa Suites, it was very reasonable and the location cannot be beat!
