If you want family accommodations with a quaint Mexican feel, an available kitchen, and is near everything in the Hotel Zone but in a quieter location, this could be the hotel for you. It costs much less than the pricier hotels nearby but has the same restaurants and stores nearby. There are apartments with full kitchens, studios with a kitchenette (microwave and refrigerator but no dishes or flatware or pans) or a bedroom only. If you get the apartment, make sure there are dishes, etc. if that’s what you paid for. Our first room was without these and when we called the office, we were moved.
However, some negatives to watch for:
No elevators (4 floors to the top – DO let the bellhop carry your luggage up), no room service or mini bar, drawers that stick, shutters that stick, hot water that takes forever and really isn’t hot, being charged for any little thing extra (maid to do dishes - $3 pesos, clean towels every day $1.5 pesos per day), no bar (there are plenty in the area), internet access in the lobby only, and noisy refrigerator.
Also, as with any resort area, beware the concierge; he wants to sell you a vacation home.
All in all, it was a good place to stay for the price.
