“Not a hotel”

This is a time share and not a hotel. First and foremost I am a member so I may be a little partial. This is one of the better run time shares in Cancun. Great Family resort, clean with large villas. There are three resturants and a market if you wish to eat in. The service thru out this resort is outstanding. Great beach and pools. But remember this is not a hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms have a ocean and pool veiw. Phase two is much more quiet. Ocean front rooms are in buildin...

All I can say is WOW! and Thank You! Royal Sands for treating us like royalty and making us feel safe and at home! Me and common law husband exchange our Timeshare thru II for week 4. We had a lock-off in Phase 1 and it was perfect for 2 people. The service all through the resort was amazing. We enjoyed every minute spent at the Royal Sands and is definitely considering returning in the near future. Again, Thank You Royal Resort for making our stay a memorable stay!

Room Tip: All rooms have a great view of the ocean. We had lock-off room 5516 in Phase 1 and loved it. You h...

We had a beach front villa. Very nice villa! The whole resort is awesome. Too bad we had alot of rain which is unusual for the time of the year. But is was still very nice. Food is good. Market is expensive. Take the shuttle to town to Walmart to shop and stock up.

“Great place to stay for relaxing or busy vacation”

We just stayed at the Royal Sands for a week by trading our timeshare elsewhere into this resort. The pools are fabulous and the prices at the market inside the Sands was reasonable all things considered. We chose to be more relaxed this vacation but we did go see Chichen Itza as well as spent a day at Isla Muerlas. There are many other day trips to see other things such as Xcaret or Cozumel. We went to Hacienda Sisal on the grounds 3 different nights. On Tuesdays, Wednesday, Thursday they have an all you can eat buffet with free drinks and a Mexican show. The buffet was about $45/person and included all types of alcholic drinks as well as about a 1 hour or so show. The only thing we would do differently next time is venture out to different restaurants as we mostly ate at our resort.

“Depends on your taste”

Please see my review for the Royal Caribbean. The Sands is one of five properties owned by the Royal Resorts and I think it is safe to say they are all very similar in quality.

This is the only one of the five Royal Resorts I have not stayed in; however, I've used the spa, pool, beach and eaten at the restaurant there. Out of the five, it definitely has the most "Club Med" like atmosphere. It skews younger adult in comparison, but is probably similar to the Caribbean in terms of children. I don't find it to be nearly as pretty as the Mayan or the Cancun, but it is much more central to shopping areas and closer to downtown.
