My husband and I, and our 2 sons (17yrs & 14yrs) stayed a week here mid December 2011. This was our first stop as part of a 6 week holiday. WOW, were we spoiled! Everything was perfect. We had a room with Grand Club Level access. Room was spotlessly clean, balcony with incredible views over pool area and out to Caribbean ocean. Great size. Grand Club Level option is definitely worth it. Eduarado and his co-workers were extremely helpful, polite, funny, they made you feel so welcome (they helped make this stay very memorable) - remembered our names after meeting them the first time and got to know what we usually ordered to drink etc. in no time. Fantastic people, very interesting to talk to and get to know. We were given a tequila tasting/information session one night - very interesting. Unlimited food/snacks and drinks (alcoholic and non) until 9.00pm each night. This option still lets you go out and try the local restaurants for dinner - Casa Tequila over the road is great!! Pool staff and pool/beach bar staff were great also, iced towels and bottled water with cashews etc brought to your deckchair as part of Grand Club Level option. Pay for cocktails etc but cheap and SO worth it! Plenty of deck chairs and space on beach and around pool, never felt cramped in. Perfect beach, great for swimming etc. Had a couple of hours of rain, but just spent the time at swim-up bar - great fun staff and awesome drinks. Very relaxing stay, will definitely be back, already planning next trip there. Best location and best beach, would recommend to anyone!! You have to include a visit to Coco Bongo during your stay - amazing!

Just returned from a 4 night stay and loved it so much. We stayed in a 4th floor room on the West side and it was gorgeous with brand new modern furniture, a beautiful balcony looking out over the pools/beach and was SO CLEAN. The bathrooms were spotless. We loved our room.

The staff is the most attentive and kind I've ever met, the service is impeccable. The food was fantastic - we ate at Isla Contoy for dinner twice, and the sea bass was wonderful, the mariachi band that played for us during dinner was adorable and so good.

We had the a la carte breakfast on most mornings which was delicious and affordable. We had the breakfast buffet on one morning, which (after using our 10% discount card) turned out to be $45 total for two people (not a bad deal at all!)-- unlimited mimosas/bloody marys, ten types of fruit juice, omelette station, cold cuts, tropical fruits, pancakes... etc. We ordered room service for breakfast our last day and it was prompt and delicious.

The beach was gorgeous, with a plethora of beach chairs. People were always walking around asking if we wanted drinks (the banana monkey is delicious! highly recommend), and one day even walked around with a platter of fruit skewers and offered them to everyone for free.

We went to the spa for the buy one get one free massage promotion on our last day - amazing experience. We were there for over 4 hours, when u take into account the hydrotherapy ritual. Was such a great experience and so relaxing. My boyfriend and I loved it.

We also left the hotel for dinner twice -- Habichuela's downtown and Lorenzillo's. Both excellent.

This is a very good hotel, expensive but offers good service. The rooms are big and clean with a very nice view of the Caribbean Sea. The location is very good, right in the middle of everything. The hotel offers free parking space. They charge an absurd amount for wi-fi.

ATTENTION: the hotel partners offer TERRIBLE service. We hired tours from an agency inside the hotel (hotelbeds) and they didn’t show up to pick us up. The customer service sucked, the guy was very impolite and insisted that we were not there in time. We lost a lot of precious time talking to him. After, because of that, we decided to rent a car. The company was also inside the hotel, Dollar Rent a Car. They gave us the price in dollars and wouldn’t accept the payment in dollars in cash. They said it had to be in pesos, the local currency, and made an absurd exchange rate. In their contract, they said they accepted dollars, even though the guy said no. Because of that, we paid 20 dollars plus the price they gave us. We were misled twice in the Caribe within two days. BE CAREFUL! DO NOT TRUST A COMPANY BECAUSE IT IS INSIDE THE HOTEL!

We were here for a medical congress. It was lovely with spacious rooms, large bathrooms, and exquisite views of the ocean. The many pools are wonderful. There are several restaurants with the buffet breakfast being commendable.

The downside includes 1) a horrible internet that works only sometimes and for which there are high charges and 2) a charge for coffee packets in the room - an absolute no-no.
