“Perfectly acceptable for one night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2010

I see mixed reviews for the Regis and can only comment about my one night stop. I found this hotel in the historic centre of Campeche and it was only 320 mexican pesos per night which OK for a solo traveller.

I had a double room. The very clean room was large and airy with a very high ceiling with both a ceiling fan and A/C with remote control for the super quiet Samsung unit. I also had a balcony overlooking the street below and traffic started coming past around 6.30 in the morning. Plenty of hot water for the shower. The room had a colour TV but only a few local channels (no cable).
Parking on the street outside the hotel was no problem when I arrived at 6.00pm.

It was perfectly acceptable for one night and I would be happy to stay there again especially as it is right in the heart of the Historic Centre of Campeche.

“excellent value”

We stayed at the Regis hotel and were more than content. We had a triple room- which has three double beds. The room was very clean- the A/C was great-they even gave us the remote control for the super quiet unit. The balcony overlooked the street below. I think we payed around US$35 (in pesos- they do not accept US currency) for 4 adults and 2 children.
My only complaint would be that the t.v. only had two local channels- but we were not there to watch t.v...
We will most likely stay there again on a future trip to Campeche- I recommend this hotel.

“Electric down....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2005

We had chosen this place due to the fact it had aircon. We booked in for 2 nights. The room was large and airy with a balcony over the street.

Two large double beds and a single to sleep the three of us. It was 365 pesos a night.

First nite was grand, second day the electric went off upstairs. The owner never gave us the option to change hotels and find some where else to stay.

At 10pm there was no lights, no tv, no fan, no aircon. With our window open to let some air inthe room, the noise of the city was not quiet. Church bells start at about 6am ever quarter of an hour. And the mossies were in as well and ate me alive.

The owner wanted 200 pesos for our troubles!

We gave em 50 pesos and walked out!
