“$89 dollars a night.........same price as the Holiday Inn in Veracruz !!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 May 2011

We stayed in this hotel for one night only; we were in Cordoba only to attend a party so we did not spend much time in the hotel

This is a small town hotel; the price per night included a breakfast buffet which wasn't bad at all. The swimming pool is several levels below the entrance, it seems o.k. but didn't have time to enjoy it.

The restaurant staff couldn't be more courteous, friendly and helpful. But the front desk staff seems a bit untrained. The room was clean and comfortable; is has good (a bit noisy) air conditioning, and toiletries. There were ants in the bathroom on the vanity, but for such a short stay, it was a minor nuissance.

Not knowing any other hotel in Cordoba, I don't guess I would recommend this as the only option. God knows if there is a better option. This will do for a short stay like ours. But if I ever needed to stay in Cordoba again, I would like to see if there is a better hotel for this price.

By the way, I personally disliked Cordoba. It looked to me like a huge brothell; from the moment the bus entered the town ( probably the wrong side of town), you see a series of cheap motels lined up on the same street, all of them with explicit names such as "the G-Spot Motel" ($10 dollars a night, as they advertise), or "Sensations Motel", and other cute laughable names..... along with cheap-looking dives like "Playboy men's club" or "XXXX-rated night Club" with pictures of almost naked women........ and all the town is plagued with these so-called cheap night clubs which make the town look unsafe at night.

During the day, the traffic is a nightmare, it takes a loooooooooooooooooong time to travel a short distance, because the streets are narrow and insufficient for the number of vehicles.
Cordoba is a small run-down town, I hope I never have to go there again., EVER.

Enjoy your trip!

“Nice, but I bet I could find something better”

I followed the advice of a fellow tripadvisor member and booked this hotel because I needed some place for sure to sleep in my way to the port of Veracruz. Good parking lot.
The view from our room was great --a sea of green, but be sure to book a room facing the pool, or you will have a noisy night due to the traffic at the avenue.
The small pool was crowded, so we preferred to take a walk to downtown and visit the nearby town of Fortin de las Flores.
The room price includes continental breakfast, but there were tiny ants in our table at the restaurant.
Maybe this hotel is still the best option in Cordoba, but after staying there one night I left with the feeling that maybe I could have found something better and cheaper at Fortin de las Flores.
Next time, I'll try something at Fortin.

“Great rate, great rooms, pool, parking, services, very nice staff !!”

We go to Cordoba every year or two to visit family there, but usually stay with them. This year we thought a motel would be simpler and absolutely chose the right place. On Avenida Uno (also called Avenida Fundadores) it's a half-mile north of the Zocalo (large classic old Spanish-style central plaza with cathedral) and across the street from Blockbuster, Pizza Hut (late night munchies) a bank, an ATM and gift shops. Though few of the staff were english fluent, all were genuinely nice and wanted to please, including the cleaning staff. The rooms were new and clean, our one gripe with the AC was resolved very quickly and they made it run ice cold. I liked the in-room safe, the below street level parking, the hotel's decor and tile, and the pool is open until 11 pm. One other little thing. Each year that I'm able to visit Cordoba, I buy these little appetizers called totopos at Los Portales, a famous place on the Zocalo. I've loved them. The totopos at Comfort Inn are even better! I love to travel but have to do it on the cheap. This place was a bonus, and I wouldn't hesitate to return each time we're in Cordoba.

“Comfort Inn is good, Cordoba is great... just stay away from Villas Layfer hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 April 2007

A couple of friends and I stayed in Cordoba. Some of us stayed in the
Comfort Inn and Villa Florida hotels, which are good-value for the money.

But some of us stayed in Villas Layfer, which is the biggest rip-off in hotel history. Villas Layfer would offer a rate around US$100 per night (we actually talked with the hotel owner), but then when you do the check-out, the owner is "un-available" and they would charge you US$250 per night and threaten you to call the cops if you don't pay.

Cordoba is a great city to visit, there is a very fine cathedral, beautiful colonial buildings and a great weather... just stay as far as you can from Villas Layfer and the band of thugs who work there.
