I liked this hotel. It's in the center of Vera Cruz in front of the plaza where there is entertainment in the evenings. You can walk to all of the shops and to the water front 2 blocks away. The hotel had a nice old-fashioned Mexican flavor. The restaurant was good, the staff was friendly. I would recommend this hotel if you're going to Vera Cruz.

I recently stayed at the hotel for two nights. The rooms are spacious, the location on the zocalo is perfect. The staff was efficient and courteous. The restaurant is outstanding, the seafood delicious. The nicest hotel I've stayed in during my seven years in Mexico. Highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed in the hotel for 16 nights. We found the hotel clean and comfortable and all staff were friendly and courteous at all times. The room was large and had adequate space and bathroom facilities. We used the swimming pool which was cleaned and checked each morning. The hotel was quiet as we were staying outside of the main tourist season. We ate breakfast in the Villa Rica restaurant. We paid 115 pesos each for a buffet breakfast. The hotel bar and Villa Rica restaurant were both well priced and food was to a good standard. Whilst staying we used the tour company Amphibian which is based in the reception area of the Hotel Colonial. Both trips were well organised and we had English speaking guides. We would recommend the hotel for location as it is close to the main promenade and the zocalo.

It is a beautiful hotel clean spacious and centrally located, you can walk anywhere or take a taxi right in front. The restaurant is beautiful and the service on point. Have the Red Snapper it's to die for and the Fish/Octopus/Shrimp tacos assortment !! I will come back in Dec.

FYI to save on transportation ride the BLUE or YELLOW bus to Boca Del Rio blue has no AC 8 pesos yellow with AC 10 pesos. You must have a capuchino or latte and people watch sooooo awsome!!!
