They promised us adjoining rooms (confirmed in writing). The rooms were not close to each other. We arrived at night and could not go anywhere else. They promised to correct it. We stayed 4 nights but they never corrected it. We later found out that they were available, but would not give them to us. We paid extra for SEAVIEW rooms. They overlooked old naval buildings and could not really see the Gulf, but instead, it was on a noisy boulevard with loud traffic. I would never recommend this to anyone. Also, the rooftop pool was very dirty. Once it looked like vomit in it.

We are a family of 2 adults and 1 child (age 2) who visited Veracruz on route to the Yucatan from Mexico City. We chose this hotel as it was convenientley located for the Aquarium and local restaurants.

When we arrived the staff were unhelpful when there was a problem with our reservation. We finally got to our room which on first glance was ok as we were tired but when we investigated we found that it was very dirty with lots of appliances not working. The ceiling in the bathroom was falling down and the air con unit above was leaking water on to the bathroom door, the toilet was also leaking. There was lots of dirt around the shower tray as well as the other areas of the room, such as the beds, lamps (which were'nt working) and the floor.

The electrics were dangerous and the plugs only went in to the socket halfway, sending sparks flying when plugging anything in. The door to the balcony did not lock.

I would only recommend this place if everywhere else was booked as there are some much nicer properties close by.

I stayed at this hotel in Feb. 2003 and made a secure reservation online 3 months prior for 2 nights. I arrived about 10:00pm and was greeted by a surly staff who would not honor my reservation. After much back and forth they gave me a room for 1 night at double the price. The room was shabby and moldy. It was a blessing to leave the next morning to a more welcoming Mexico.
