I was surprised by the "below-average" service of this hotel, considering that it is a Holiday Inn.
The check-in / check-out process was ok and the front-desk staff were kind.
The rooms were extremely spacious, but its decoration (or maybe lack of it) made them look cold, not cozy at all. The floors have no rugs, and the fluorescent light did not help to make it look warm. I didn't like the pillows either. The air conditioning was also kind of noisy for my taste.
A recurrent problem in some hotels is that the black-out curtains are not big enough to cover the whole window, so at 6 am, I had some son bothering me while I was still trying to sleep.
The quality of the amenities pack was really poor: the soap smelled like washing powder. A good amenities pack is something that I really appreciate.
Another problem I had is that my corporate rate included breakfast but I was not aware of that (they were, but did not tell me).
Once I learned that, I decided to ask the waiter not to charge it to my bill, but he told me that I should have shown him my business card "before" having breakfast and not after and of course, they put the charge on my bill. The front-desk staff refused to refund those charges at the check-out process, claiming that it was compliant with their procedures.
A disappointing experience for the Holiday Inn standard.
