Upon arrival we were greeted in a "not so friendly way" but as we are all people, that can happen. Then we got a room assigned that was full of smoke from the previous guest, where we had specifically asked for non-smoking. Luckily we could change quite easily to another room at the same floor. rooms are OK not more then that, bathroom section could do with an overhaul. First night we slept well, but second night there was a group of young people located in the rooms right above ours. It was a hell of a noise. We complained at 11 pm, with no result, we complained again a 12.30 am with no result and complained a third time at 2 am. after no sleeping at all, we complained at front desk where the girls only raised their shoulders to it. As I speak spanish I managed to pull the manager from behind his office and had to fight big time to get a compensation....... of 500 pesos! You can understand that this was the last time they have seen me in this Hostal. As the title read, there are better options in Veracruz, do take them.
