We were traveling around Veracuz in Spring Break, which is also Semana Santa Vacation in Mexico so “Las Casitas” area were we were going to stay was so full, we spent an hour in traffic just to get to the intersection, when we got there instead of turning left we decided to try our luck right and wait until the morning to continue to Tecolutla. We did not find a place until Vega de la Torre. We were lucky to find such a nice clean hotel right on the road. For some reason we found must hotels in Veracruz to be a bit noisy until bed time. The rooms were very clean and the accommodations were adequate. They also had a pretty good restaurant. The owner and waiter were very nice. The town is right in back and it has an interesting church tower, nothing else. There is an archeological site near by Las Higueras. A small museum with replicas, all originals are in the Xalapa museum. The interesting part is that a town is built upon the ruins!
