We were travelling by car and were up to a cofortable hotel. We read about Casa Mexicana in our travell guides, and after revising a list of hostels and hotels at the tourist office, decided to pass by. We informed about vacancys at the desk, and I believe we stayed there for 3 nights. The person behind the desk was verry griendly and we even got a discount. Our room was located at the hotel building across the street of the main building. Both buildings form the hotel were really beautifull. Lovely open patios, vegetation, art and seating areas.
The bellboy kindly unloaded all our stuff from the car, and then guided us to the nearby parking area. You can get massages at the hotel and althoug we wantend to try them we did not get the chance. Breakfast was not included, however, the hotel has a great central location and you can easily find bakers, restaurants, ... nearby if you whish to have cheap breakfast. We had a lovely room, with a comfortable king size bed and airconditinning. The room was not verry big but there was enough storrage room and we found it to be ideal. The windows were at the patio side, and thus we had no noize from the street at all. There was a tv and free wifi (and pc's if you don't have your own). We did miss a little fridge or minibar, but this often the case whith accomadationts throughout Mexico.
One mornng we did not have warm water in the shower, although the staff tried to fix the problem they were not able to. We asked if we could take a shower in another room and this was arranged immediatly. Easy solution. Staff is there 24h if you need anything.
Overall we were verry pleased with our stay and we do recommend this hotel if you are planning a stay in San Cristobal.
