This hotel is located right in the historical centre of Mexico City - just one block from the Zocalo and Madero street. It's also at a walking distance of the Alameda, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Templo Mayor, thus ideal to visit the major monuments in the centro historico. There's an underground station nearby which is useful to visit other parts of the city.
I stayed four nights in this hotel, one night in room 115, the other three nights in room 301. I asked to change rooms after the first night because the room (115) was next to the street and was quite noisy. There's not that much traffic passing through the street, but I had the impression there were many trucks and especially cabs unnecessarily honking their horns. Just like a few other people wrote in their reviews I also heard the noise of continuously running water. The other room (301) was facing the elevator and I expected it to be a little noisy as well but it was very quiet.
The beds are NH standard which means good quality. NH also stands for clean and spacious rooms, friendly staff, expensive breakfasts (room-service only)... there's a Starbucks next door, so no need to order breakfast! For those needing a more solid breakfast I'd suggest to go to Café Tacuba (in Tacuba street). In my opinion the best place in Mexico City for breakfast!
The bottles of water in the bathroom are to be paid for - I noticed they're actually on the mini-bar list. I do not remember the price but it was cheaper to buy bottled water in the supermarket around the corner (a half liter bottle costs no more than 5 pesos). The mini-bar (in room 301) was hardly cold though - it didn't make a difference if I put my drinks in there or kept them in the room.
