“Lovely Hotel - helpful reception staff”

We have just returned from our holiday in Mexico. We were lucky to have chosen Hotel Marlowe for our stay in Mexico City. The room was spacious and well lit (912) bed was very comfortable and although no a/c in room, fan worked well enough. It is located very close to the Belles Artes and also the Zocalo ( about 10 minutes walk) Hotel is extremely clean and the front office staff especially Sergio and Alejandra went out of their way to explain all to us. The mexicans are very friendly and warm people, similar to us Maltese. We left our luggages in the Hotels lock up room, on two occassions when we visited the Southern part of Mexico and then again when we went to Oaxaca for 3 days. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a very decent hotel and a good price (although maybe expensive compared to other hotels in other parts of Mexico). Thank you all for all your help.

Room Tip: I actually chose this hotel because of the excellent reviews I read on trip advisor. I always refer...

“GREAT value for your money!”

We stayed for 4 nights. The hotel is extremely clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful and you can set up tours from the front desk. The location is within 2 blocks of Palacio Belles Artes and about 6 blocks from Zocalo. We felt safe walking in the evenings. The room was small and the bed was hard - but apart from that there is nothing negative I can say about this hotel. I would definitely stay there again!!!!

Room Tip: Get an 'inside' room as the street noise can be a bit loud

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel. The location was perfect for us, it was at walking distances from the tourists destinations, close to the the public transportation. We were satisfied with the service from the staff. The breakfast was very good, good coffee, fresh food. Very clean room.

“Not fancy, but, well worth it.”

Stayed for three nights and didn't experienced any major problem. Overall, the hotel is clean and staff was very helpful. It's located near the Zocalo, Alameda Park, Bellas Artes and other attractions. The room I got was small, which was ok with me since I was traveling by my self, the decor was up to date and the bathroom had lots of room and had a separate faucet with purified water...a big plus. The one thing that I found that was a bit of a problem was the bed...it was a bit on the hard side. Another caveat, there is no A/C in the room only a ceiling fan. My stay was during the cool months so I didn't miss the A/C, but, I'm including this in for those of you who are planning on visiting during the warm/hot months. I didn't eat at the restaurant so I cannot comment on it. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

“Great Location in Mexico City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Based on other reviews, we chose Hotel Marlowe for our recent stay in Mexico City, and were not disappointed. The hotel is located approximately one block south from the Bellas Artes and the start of the main pedestrian walk that leads to the Plaza de la Constitucion which makes access to many of the main attractions in the Centro Historico within walking distance.

The hotel itself is fairly modern with a nicely-decorated spacious lobby and a bright, airy restaurant. The rooms are not large but were clean and had everything that we needed to make for a comfortable stay - you likely will not be spending much time in the room anyway as there is so much to see and do!

Access to both the subway and bus systems from the hotel is also easy. We used the subway to visit Chapultepec Park, which is a large park containing several museums, including the world-famous Museo Nacional de Antropologia, which is a must-see. The use of the subway is fairly easy, but it would be advisable to have some basic Spanish. The subway stations have names and symbols which are also posted inside the subway cars so you can easily follow your route to your exit. We also used the bus system (electric bus on Lazaro Cardenas), which uses the same name and symbol system as the subway, to get to the main Terminal Norte bus station, where we caught a bus to the nearby Teotihuacan ruins.

For the location and price, I do not think that we could have found a better place to stay in Mexico City.

Room Tip: Upper floors towards the back of the hotel are likely the quietest in this hotel
