“Excelent hotel, excelent people, excelent experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 May 2009

Having stayed in this hotel for about 2 weeks I can higly recommend it for anyone who is on a budget and would like to stay near the city centre and be well connected to the rest of DF at the same time.
Yes, the area is a little bit dark and seems insecure at night, but me being a twenty-some woman travelling alone felt just fine. Do not adventure yourself at 3 AM on a working day for it's very lonely, but that's what happens in almost EVERY part of this city. Remember, it's Mexico, not Switzerland.
The hotel staff was always great with me. Me and my family used this hotel as a sort of "base" while exploring the rest of the country and also Guatemala. We stayed 1 night, then left our suitcases with them, went to other cities for a week, then came back, stayed for another night, ask them to give us our luggage, took out some things and gave them our suicases back for them to keep them at their hotel once again and they ALWAYS did it with a great smile and kindness. We must have been very annoying at times and yet they always provide us with a great service.
The restaurant is good, not marvellous but very acceptable and the rooms are big, CLEAN and well equipped considering what your paying for. Very comfortable beds and although I read reviews mentioning some noise, that's because there is a show at the hotel's cafe which ends at 10 PM, but that's normal in Mexico because nobody sleeps earlier than 11 PM. Noise was of NO problem for me and the walls are thick enough for not listening a sound coming from other rooms.
So, a great find in Mexico city. Specially the staff. I am a spanish speaker, maybe for english speakers things might be a little different due to language barriers, but the staff will always be as helpful as they can.
Totally recommended !

“sad service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2009

I was there to do some personal business. I told my friends and family that I was stasying there and gave out the number along with my room number. My family called but they could not get through. The problem being the hotel phone opperator could not speak english. Instead of trying to help she just hung up the phone. My family called over 20 times but each time was hung on , no attempt to find out what they wanted. Sad, luckly it was not a life determining matter, but my family was worried as they could not reach me.

“Terrible Experience”

It was loud at night, and the staff did not care. The food was mediocre. I had a different price written on my check-in card when I checked out than when I checked in. I asked the clerk about the change. I’ve never seen a hotel clerk with anything like his reaction. I have never been in a situation like what then happened in my life. He was aggressive, insulting and he threatened me. He had the bell hop lock me in the lobby. It was early morning and I was alone. My wife arrived, and after some more yelling and tension, a second person arrived. He brought peace to the situation.

it a nice place, very well located. the rooms are just the average room everywhere. but with no AC , no purified water, awfull shampoo ( really smells bad ) , you can hear all kind of noises, children running by the hall , children screaming , etc... i mean , its nice and clean , too clean actually that all the towels smells like bleach , actually all the bathroom smells like bleach , and i hate bleach. anyway , if you wanna be close to Zona rosa and all the gay lifestyle , go on , the good thing about this place is that is really cheap , and ... well located , ohhh i told you that already , aright , just try it .

“Disappointed”

Read the reviews, and was aware of the hotel from several visits to the City. First the room was too warm (Unusually warm for November) I asked twice for a fan for the room - no luck. I was told their was air-conditioning, but it only worked for about 4 hours over 4 days - and too noisy. No controls in the room.
No menu for room service. No bottled water. No (Labeled) purified water faucets. Bathroom too small. I am a frequent traveler to Mexico city and have had much better at lower prices.
