Having stayed in this hotel for about 2 weeks I can higly recommend it for anyone who is on a budget and would like to stay near the city centre and be well connected to the rest of DF at the same time.
Yes, the area is a little bit dark and seems insecure at night, but me being a twenty-some woman travelling alone felt just fine. Do not adventure yourself at 3 AM on a working day for it's very lonely, but that's what happens in almost EVERY part of this city. Remember, it's Mexico, not Switzerland.
The hotel staff was always great with me. Me and my family used this hotel as a sort of "base" while exploring the rest of the country and also Guatemala. We stayed 1 night, then left our suitcases with them, went to other cities for a week, then came back, stayed for another night, ask them to give us our luggage, took out some things and gave them our suicases back for them to keep them at their hotel once again and they ALWAYS did it with a great smile and kindness. We must have been very annoying at times and yet they always provide us with a great service.
The restaurant is good, not marvellous but very acceptable and the rooms are big, CLEAN and well equipped considering what your paying for. Very comfortable beds and although I read reviews mentioning some noise, that's because there is a show at the hotel's cafe which ends at 10 PM, but that's normal in Mexico because nobody sleeps earlier than 11 PM. Noise was of NO problem for me and the walls are thick enough for not listening a sound coming from other rooms.
So, a great find in Mexico city. Specially the staff. I am a spanish speaker, maybe for english speakers things might be a little different due to language barriers, but the staff will always be as helpful as they can.
Totally recommended !
