“Good location but quite noisy...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights. The location was good, near the Revolution Monument and walking distance to other sites of the city, plus shops, restaurants etc and not far at all from Chapultepec Park. However, it did get quite noisy at night. We saw on the hotel website that they have a connection with Six Flags to get discounted tickets. This wasn't the case. The man on reception sent us to one of their partner hotels and said they were waiting for us and could get us tickets, however when we arrived they didn't know what we were talking about, so was wasted money in a taxi.
Overall, I would say our stay was ok, but will probably try somewhere else if we return to Mexico City.

“Internet does not work, noisy, problems with key”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2011

I reserved through a website online and prices at the front desk were significantly lower. Taxes are not revealed on prices showed online. The street where this hotel is located is quite dark at night, avoid walking alone. The internet is extra, quite expensive and it does not work at all. The second night I had problems with my key and had to go three times to the front desk to get the problem solved. Their solution was that everytime I was to use the room I needed a bell boy to open with the master key. The price is good but so is the price of other hotels in the area with better services. The hotel is noisy at night as kids run in the corridors unattended.

Room Tip: Do not reserve online, prices at the hotel are significantly lower. Do not come to this hotel if you...

“Friendly & Helpful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 May 2011

I booked this hotel on the phone the receptionist was very polite & helpful. The waiting staff were extremely patient and pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. There was no cable but, some movies in english. The people in the next room smoked and the fumes crept into our room, they were a bit noisy as well! However that is not the fault of the Hotel or the hotel staff. We thought we got very good value for money and we got a good deal. Its not the Dorchester so don't expect 5 star service. However, it is economical, clean, comfortable, safe, the staff were helpful & friendly it is in a great location for walking around the City.

Room Tip: ask for no smoking area away from noisy neighbours

“A good choice of a hotel when you are on a budget”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 February 2011

The hotel is walking distance to the city centre, shopping, banks and churches, etc. My room was small but it was clean, housekeeping was done everyday . They have a restaurant on main floor which offers good mexican menus ,I pay 150-200 pesos /meal for lunch or dinner . Internet does not work all the time, cost me 50 pesos/24hrs to be connected but just around the street corner is an internet cafe and it cost me 1peso/hr. Bring your adaptor plugins, to get one will cost another 25 pesos in the hotel. It was mostly quiet at night with some occasional loud noises heard from the elevator . Staff were pleasant and helpful.Taxi from the hotel is expensive, they charge me 90 pesos for a route that is normally 40...oh well, they offer security during your travel.

“for Spanish speakers only”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2010

Hotel's website is dishonest: no satellite TV or remote (6 basic Spanish channels with no sub titles), rooms not air conditioned (central air not working or turned on) , no gift shop, no children's pool.

Tiny room. Luggage had to be stored in closet. No light in closet required luggage removal for retrieval of any item. With no air conditioning had to keep windows open. No screens... after 2nd night counted 17 mosquito bites on head, neck, arms. Very noisy...could hear everything that went on in nearby rooms. Shower had a hole in partition and flooded bathroom floor. Shower floor not sanitary, bathroom window very dirty.

Elevator leveller system doesn't work properly missing its position by 2 to 8 inches leading to stubbed toes or stumbles. Wireless internet cost 50 pesos/24 hours and then of very short range (didn't work at bar next door) and not 100% reliable.

All staff very rude and unhelpful with the exception of the 2 English speaking doormen. Was made fun of by desk staff. Food and beverage staff in overpriced restaurant unwilling to assist even when I was the only customer. No complementary ice to cool beverages in room. (ca be obtained at the liquor store across the street cheaply).

Take the $5 you save on Wi-Fi and spend it on an upgrade to a nicer property that includes internet access.

Only redeeming factors: pool (closes too early at 8:00 PM), decent location, price.

STAY AWAY UNLESS FLUENT SPANISH SPEAKER ON A VERY TIGHT BUDGET.
