I stayed in the Century Zona Rosa in June of 2007. I found it to be very adequate and reasonably priced. It’s an older hotel but well maintained and clean. The staff is very pleasant and VERY helpful. Some street noise in the room if you get a room in the front street side. The restaurant is very clean….there is someone in there all the time cleaning something. The food is very good, reasonably priced and service is outstanding. It is located in an older part of the city and in the heart of the “Zona Rosa” (Pink Zone)…Mexico City’s Gay district. Public display of affection between same-sex couples is prevalent. Lots of Gay bars, restaurants, shops and sex shops in the area. If any of that offends you then look elsewhere. Hotel is near a Metro (subway) Station…about 2 blocks I think. Lots of taxis available outside the hotel. Lots of shopping and good international restaurants in the area. 30 - 40 minutes from the Mexico City International Airport…taxi fare was $22 USD. Hotel is just 2 blocks from the main drag thru the city… Avenida Reforma. I walked around the area in the late evening and it was a safe place to walk. If you’re thinking about renting a car and driving in the city…DON’T. It’s a city of 26 million people and they’re all on the streets in cars.
