“Very comfortable stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

Everything was great including the service, food, atmosphere and location. It's no wonder this hotel is on the "Leading Hotel of the World" list. Our only problem was with the lack of an iron in our room. I just assumed there was one since the board was in the closet. I called the front desk and they said the hotel was full so no irons were left. They did offer to iron our clothes at 1/2 price and they were returned within 1 hr. I also received a iron within 2 hrs. The rooms are huge and comfortable, breakfast buffet excellent, and the lobby beautiful.

“A very pleasant birthday trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

My husband and I returned to the Marquis once again. This time to celebrate our birthdays. After checking in and directed to our room by the bellboy, we realized that we were upgraded to a suite. Needless to say that our stay was awesome. The hotel has been renovated, and as usual the service is excellent, the location unbeatable. A very good deal for the room rates. Our daughter stayed in one of the standard rooms and was very happy with her accomodation. We ate two dinners and daily breakfast at Los Canarios. The food is excellent and reasonably expensive. Sunday brunch was lavish and outstanding. I visit Mexico City often and have tried other nearby hotels. The Marquis has gotten old, but has aged well . It is very well maintained and remains a little oasis in the middle of the bustling city. I highly recommend it.

“Losing its stars...”

The Marquis Reforma is located on the Reforma Avenue - a brilliant location. There are several dining options both within and around the hotel. However, the rooms are quite dated and old. The decor looks exhausted and is in dire need of a change. The rooms are not all that spacious with bulky chest of drawers and beds taking away a lot of the space. Its actually a cramped walk around the room. The hotel needs to look at renovation.

The positives - the staff and their friendly demeanour, the fresh fruits and chocolates with the evening turndown service, the 'buenos dias' greetings by the staff everytime they meet you, the food at the Los Canarios restaurant, the location.

The hotel has quite a few things going for it, but to be truly worth its reputation, it needs to look at refurbishing and renovating.

“Fantastic service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

The hotel is very conveniently located on Paseo de la Reforma. The staff are great and the service is superb. Internet service was spotty as they are in the process of upgrading their system and for this reason the wifi signal was weak and inconsistent. A coffee maker in the room would be a nice option.

Room Tip: Does not hurt to ask for an upgrade, if available they will grant you one.

“Lovely Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

We had a lovely stay at the Marquis. We had to upgrade from the 2 queen room we booked on Expedia (for a great price) to a suite for an extra daily charge. A family of 4 wouldn't be comfortable in the double for very long. The adults had the spa and pool to themselves during the day on the weekdays. Service and treatments were great and very relaxing. Kids not allowed in the pool, but we knew that. Disappointing that we had to upgrade, that the internet was not included (and once we did pay ~$20/24 hours, it was only for one computer at a time), that we had to pay to use the pool ($20/each per day), and that the bathroom had an intermittent odor. But the suite was lovely, clean and well-appointed, the food and service were great.

Room Tip: Reforma (street) side had lovely views, but when we were there, there was a Walk (Avon Breast Cancer...
