“ok for business.... but for business only”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

Huge fancy hotel with a very nice lobby and conference rooms. I was here for business and I have to say that the place was perfect for the event. However the service is very impersonal and staff often not able (or willing) to help you. There are 2 to 6 staff at the counter desk depending on the time of the day, serving the customer from a unique line, thus ensuring first arrived first served. However when my key-card got de-activated and I could not enter my room, I used a phone to call for housekeeping and I asked to receive a new card but no one came. Then i went downstairs and I had to wait about 20 minutes behind checking-in customers to have my card replaced. Not a big deal of course, but if you are looking for relaxing time on holiday there are better places to stay in the DF where you can get a more personal attention.

Friendly Mexican hotel, location is relatively safe. 30 minute drive to airport. Take a licenced taxi from hotel if going out.

Room Tip: Elevators are slow, so pick a floor close to ground level. Starbucks is on gound floor with patio, t...

“Excellent services”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

Had a fantastic stay in early September and would come back again. Stayed for both business and pleasure. Everything about the hotel was a delight. The rooms were fairly standard a little outdated, but very well kept, with nice toiletries and amenities. The service both at the front desk and at concierge was fantastic. As a foreigner, I didn't have a language barrier and also received honest opinions about where to go to experience local culture and food. They will arrange tours or give you the best advice on how to visit something on your own. The food in the restaurant was really quite outstanding and more than worth the price, even if you can find cheaper. Expect to dole out a lot of propinitas (little tips). Though service is superior, there is an expectation that you will put a few pesos in the hands of the service staff (something that I don't mind).

The fitness room was a bit retro for my tastes, which is too bad given that it's not good for you to do vigorous exercise outside in the heavily polluted Mexico City. It only had a few machines (mostly treadmills) and some weights. It was not warm enough to experience the pool.

The zocalo (famous town center) and other center DF attractions are walkable in about 15 minutes, but this hotel also sits in the reforma district -- a hip and trendy part of town. It is also convenient to diffeernt stores and vendors selling the basic necessities. All around the best place I've stayed in for awhile.

Room Tip: Go high with this hotel. This is definitely a hotel with great views of the rest of the city.

“Excelent choice for your money”

Recently stayed on a business trip at a hotel I had not been to in more than 15 years. I was glad to find the excellent service Fiesta Americana usually provides.
The rooms are maybe not large but not small with a grest view of the main points of the city. While the furniture is not the most up to date it is clean and very well maintained. Front desk and room service were excellent. For business travellers and leisure travellers the location is the best. Very good value for your money.

“Excellent service, great business spaces”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

I organized a work-realted event and stayed at this hotel. I was impressed by the professionalism and service attitude of all the personnel, such as maids, bell boys, concierge, food services, etc. The only thing that this hotel lack is a pool, but being a city hotel this is not too bad, compared to the extra value addes by the good service. Nice rooms, great location, and excellent food.
