Meson de los Poetas is a bit of a mixed bag. It is an interesting old building, in a good location -- central, but not so central that it is too noisy. The rooms are nothing special, and a bit odd. We had a kitchen, but no utensils, pots or pans. So, it was unusable wasted space.
Service was a bit mixed. One young student was very helpful and spoke good English. A woman working a different shift was helpful and friendly, no English. The woman on duty when we left tried to make money on our taxi ride to the airport.
BTW, if you going to Guanajuato, DO NOT attempt to drive around town. Many of the main roads are underground tunnels and impossible to navigate if you are not already familiar with them. There is no parking in most central locations, including near Meson de Los Poetas. Just park at the first pay parking lot you see and take a taxi!
