Was assigned this hotel so no real choice in the matter. Guanajuato is an amazzing and beautiful place, so to be staying outside the city, on a dry urban ring road, with views of old garages, was very disappointing.
The rooms were large and clean and generic and charmless, and come with the ubiquitous cover and blanket, the ones where you have no idea how many times they've been used before without being cleaned. These I am happy to say seemed clean, but then the hotel is apparently very new. Also the room looked over the internal atrium, so to know what was happening weather wise to decide what to wear, I had to go out of the room in my towel and look out of the window in the corridor.
Also it's an Express, meaning, no room service other than Dominos on the speed dial. Seriously. Also no bar other than an Appleby's next door which closed at 11.
I thought breakfast was fine, huevos rancheros every day though, and fruit, my colleagues begged to differ. And when the hotel was full, as it was when we were there, of evangelists at an evagelist get-together, it could be a 20 min wait in a queue, not to mention a melee at the lifts.
Reception was fine, if easily confused by any change in booking.
