On the spur of the moment, we (2 couples) decided to go to Guanajuato without having done any real research. Since it was Christmas vacation, we let a travel agent book us into this hotel. After a major fit by my husband, we wound up with 2 decent rooms instead of 2 dank rooms at the bottom of the hotel (4 flights down). The hotel is on the top of Guanajuato with fabulous views but a very long walk down to the town although taxis are plentiful and quite inexpensive. Not a location that you can easily drop in and out of. It was also the coldest place on our trip and there was no heat in the rooms at night. Luckily there were two beds, so we took the blankets from both beds to keep warm. There was a nice pool in the courtyard which would have been a delight at a warmer time. Considering the amount of effort that we put into finding a hotel, we could have done much worse. At least the price was reasonable and the hotel was clean.
