Part of my business party stayed at the Hilton but my group stayed at this hotel. If you want the Mexican experience with great local food and the morning hot chocolate, this is where you want to be. The breakfast hour is longer than most hotels because many of the local families come to this hotel to eat and to celebrate significant events. We would work late into the night due to time zone issues and did not have to worry about making it to breakfast. Breakfast was included and is a buffet that includes cook to order meals. The conceirge provided assistance for local travel and the laundry service was excellent. Hotel safes are at a room next to the hotel front desk - and not in the hotel room - but the safes are private and worked out fine. Carpet in room was dirty - had to wear socks so that my feet would not turn black. Also had a problem with the bath/shower drain that would not drain well. Room was also a bit small. Wireless worked well and there is a business office for customers to use along with a conference room. Hotel was also willing to change US money to pesos.

I spent a weekend at this hotel when my usual hotels in Guadalajara were full. Great Expo location near Las Rosas.
Professional service, nice rooms - clean, complete, comfortable, quiet. Nice restaurant for a hotel (Flor de Calabaza is the name) and its breakfast buffet seems popular with local families for get togethers and I did the same and had my local family for a group of 7 for breakfast. As is typical once you are out of Mexico City, a surprise discount appears with one of the two children being given a free buffet breakfast. Good service, clean rooms, good food, nice facilities, low price - what more could I ask for. I will be back here more often.

Hotel is showing its age in the carpeting and decor; it does not flash with style or high comfort but for business it does the job. The location is the key for this hotel as it is very near the Expo center. So my problem was that I expected climate control such as heat, as it is January and it gets cool. It was not hot nor truly cold but if my room is not comfortable then I will request a blanket. I got one for the 2nd night after being too cool the prior night. Then found out there is no heat avail on the property so I was stuck. Best solution was to turn on the shower on high and hot which gave me more humidity and warmth during evening.
I had a single room which also has a small bathroom. In all it is adequate and covers what I need but 4 stars is pushing it.

Hotel breakfast is quite nice and usual Mexican style items plus eggs et.al. Hotel staff is very nice and in good humor and lobby is attractive with big sofas and chairs. Located on main tree lined boulevard with a Starbucks just down the block, as well as, a variety of restaurants/ shops.

I may come back but not in winter.
