“Very Very Nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

From the phone call weeks before our arrival, to our departure, there was not one thing to complain about. Everyone including the maintenance engineer who fixed my wife's suit case and would not take a tip, were all very friendly and helpful. The restaurant served good food and the hotel is on a major bus line to go to the central of the city and other places of interest. It is also in walking distance to various banks, pharmacys, a Seven Elleven, food market and a large mall.

We would go back again. Guadalajara is a beautiful city. There are tours availablble to other cities outside of Guadalajara such as Lake Chapala, Ajitic, Xlaquepaque and Zapoepan. All very nice.We did not go to Tequila, but everyone we talked to who went made me feel bad for missing it. So don't miss it.

Room Tip: The hotel in the front is for the mostpart for the traveling business people. The suites in the back...

“Pleasant stay at a nice hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

We stayed in the tower for 4 days just before leaving GDL. When we first arrived at the hotel. we were surprised at the location. It's in between a cell phone store and a furniture store. However, the interior of the hotel was a pleasant surprise. It was clean, modern, and beautiful. We had arrived a few hours early, and our room was not ready. The front desk staff graciously stored our bags until the room was ready. We left the hotel and went shopping in Tonala for a few hours. (There is always a taxi waiting outside of the hotel for the guests, BTW.) When we came back, our room was ready, and the bell boy brought our bags up promptly. Our room was on the 4th floor, and although not large, it was spacious enough for my husband and I. If we were there for a longer stay, I probably would have upgraded to a suite. The room was very clean and the furnishings are modern. Our room overlooked the pool and lawn area. The bathroom is small, all marble, but again, very clean and functional. We ate almost all meals at the restaurant downstairs. The food was very good, service was excellent. WiFi (which was FREE) worked perfectly the entire time. Our room was suprisingly quiet despite the fact that the hotel is on a very busy Ave. in Chapalita. Maid service was very good. There was 2 bottles of water and coffee daily. Overall a very pleasant stay at a nice hotel. I would definitely recommend and would return.

“WHAT A JOKE!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2011

My husband has his own internet business, so one of the major reasons we selected the hotel via timeshare was because of the wifi. We checked in and the next were told that the wifi was down but would be up the next day as the tech person was on vacation. Well, 3 days later and we see a note on the bed stating that the wifi outage was due to city work onthe block which was a complete LIE because we walked half a block down to Salad Express and their wifi was working impeccably. Also, my husband was swimming in the pool and it expressly stated on the welcome card in the room that the pool hours were 7am-10pm, however a manager comes over to my husband at 8pm and asks him to get out of the pool as it was closed at 8pm. I then went to the reception desk and the receptionist said 10pm closing time was a typo, but guess what, the next day the welcome card was not replaced with the "correct" pool hours. The only good thing about this place was the friendly bell hop, but the management was absolutely CLUELESS! Especially, when we asked for a one-night or two-night free stay due to the wifi issue of it being down for more than 4 days, and the management was totally un-accomodating and totally in-flexible. I WILL NEVER EVER STAY HERE AGAIN! For a business traveler this hotel is a joke and not to mention that as a time-share owner there was no microwave or mini-fridge for food. They have ALOT to learn about customer service and not lying to cover-up their shoddy tracks!

“Great choice”

Hotel Guadalajara Plaza has a 7-story building of standard hotel rooms (very nice) and a series of two-story buildings with 1-bedroom units set around a lovely patio area and heated pool (about 36 feet in diameter). Each unit has a living room area with couch and chairs plus a table, chairs, and small refrigerator and microwave. The bedroom area is relatively large; the bathroom is standard. The unit has high-quality A/C. The interior is immaculately clean and well-maintained; the bed is comfortable. The patio area is gorgeous and peaceful with lounge chairs surrounding the pool. We were the only ones at the pool all week; the temps were about 75 degrees (possibly too cool for others, but fine for folks from Wisconsin). Most of the guests were business men who set off early in the morning and were gone all day. There were no Americans and virtually no tourists.

The hotel has an excellent breakfast buffet for less than $10 pp. The buffet includes fabulous fruits, 6-8 Mexican entrees, a cook waiting for your order for omelets, pancakes, or specialty Mexican items. There was also a full complement of fresh breads and juices. We did not eat other meals there.

The hotel is located on a busy street (though the hotel rooms facing the pool and the 1-bedroom units, all in the back, were quiet). Taxis are plentiful and cost between $4 and $7 to get downtown or to any restaurant. Alternatively, we found it easy to figure out the buses which stopped within a block of the hotel and cost about 50 cents.

The concierge was very helpful with perfect recommendations for restaurants and day trips. There is a happy hour with 1/2 price drinks, The concierge and several people working the front desk have reasonable fluency in English.

7/11 and a larger grocery store, pharmacy, bank and ATM are all within a block or two. There is a large shopping center about 4blocks away.

“Ideal for Relaxation”

We stayed at this hotel in the month of May in the area known as Suites which is located next to the pool. The room was very large and very comfortable and the AC was working extremely fine. It had free wireless service and provided us with complimentary coffee and amenities. Four bottle of waters are also provided daily and a refrigerator is avaiilable to maintain the bottles of water (or any other items) nice and cool.

We also used the restaurant for full breakfast buffet on a daily basis at a cost of $125 mexican pesos per person (all you can eat) and the food was great. For lunch or dinner it is also recommended if you do not want to go out..

Best of all the service is A++++
