The owners Doug and Betty are very friendly. The breakfast they serve is excellent and healthy. The room was basic and could use some more privacy (it looks out onto a deck and a bar that the owners and other guests use). Some improvements to the house and room where we stayed could be made. Fresh flowers in the room and a teddy bear on the bed. Not centrally located but they will call a cab for you. A little hard to find if you're driving in so write or call ahead for more specific instructions.

I was looking for a nice base to spend a few days working on my Spanish while learning more about this beautiful area of Mexico. Luckily I found Casa La Malinche (and Doug and Betty) on-line and had a great experience in their home/B & B. The lodging is in a unique, modern, three-story home with all comforts. I appreciated the privacy of my rooms and access to the kitchen and outdoor lounges at all hours. My 1st floor bedroom with bathroom and shower was accessible down spiral stairs from the second floor. This room has direct access to the back garden as well. Breakfast featured a variety of options including lots of local fresh fruit.

The hosts made every effort to acommodate my needs and helped me plan my days carefully. I couldn't have gotten so much out of my 5 day stay without their assistance. I'll be back.

We had a wonderful time staying at Casa la Malinche and would love to go back. This was our first time to Moreles and Doug and Betty's advice was extremely valuable and very accurate. If you are not proficient in Spanish, be sure and print the map and take with you to show the taxi drivers. That was a life saver.

The rooms really are spacious and private with very nice bathroom accomdations and lots of common area to sit outside to enjoy your favorite beverage. Within walking distance of Casa la Malinche are places to eat and buy staples. Taxis are easily found just down the street or can be radioed to come to the house and are very reasonable.

Breakfast is plentiful and healthy and is served to accomodate those how like to sleep in (8:30 to 10:30).

As another reviewer said, quite accurately, it is really hard to find a nice place to stay in Cuernavaca at a reasonable price. Casa La Malinche is much more than just a nice place at a reasonable price. Our only regret is that we didn't plan more time in our stay to simply hang out at the house and enjoy the tranquility of the place and the view from the terrace.

The house is built on the side of one of Cuernavaca's several ravines, and has three basic levels. The rooms we saw each have access to two of those levels---the ceilings are high, the rooms spacious, and the neighborhood amazingly quiet for how convenient it is to downtown Cuernavaca. The small considerations Doug and Betty alert you to when you arrive---patience with the hot water (which always arrived nice and hot, eventually) etc....are standard considerations in any home in Cuernavaca and are more than compensated for by the beauty, comfort and convenience of the house, and the graciousness of the hosts.
