While the courtyard and pool (although I never used it) are quite nice, and the overall property is well maintained and manicured, that's where the pro's end.
First, you get killed with the exchange rate. As of today, their rate was 11/1 but the published rate is well over 14/1. I'd definitely suggest booking through a travel site rather than through Holiday Inn.
Second, this is a Holiday Inn, NOT a luxury hotel. Every service person wants/expects a tip and will basically wait for it until you either cave in or walk/drive away or shut the door. I'm sorry but I can park my car on my own. If you don't let me, that's fine, but I'm not going to tip just because you won't let me do things on my own.
Third, pack enough to where you won't have to do laundry. It's $35 pesos per shirt, $45 pesos for pants and $25 for miscellaneous items. That's just for laundering... not dry cleaning. There are no self serve facilities available.
Fourth, don't attempt to extend your stay as they tend to only honor the original reservation and that's it. It happened to me today and now I'm stuck looking for a new place for 2 more nights. I told them that I'd need to extend my stay at least until Wednesday but to keep it reserved until Friday. I got the friendly head nod and signed a new sheet and got a new key. I should have had someone who was bilingual to clarify with them.
Well, aside from that, the room service is quick, but don't order the pizza as their cooks have yet to master the art of sauce. I'd suggest walking 2 blocks and getting Domino's for better quality and at a lower cost.
