This is not one of Barcelo's big impressive mega resorts. It is clean, cozy comfortable hotel if you are in cuernavaca to see the sights or meet up with friends or family. The rooms are not overly spacious but there is a nice balcony overlooking the pool. Showers have been upgraded and are better than some. There are two small pools that are warm but not deep enough for diving. The staff is attentive, efficient and polite. we stayed in room 309. I recommend it. It is high enough to be quiet and is on end of hallway. Very Nice view of pool and lightning shows at night. Do not drink the water. plan on walking to store (Waldo Mart) 5 minutes walk on plan de ayalla to buy water.

I did not see anyone eating in the restaurant. I heard the prices are steep. However, you are within 5 minutes walk of Sanborns, and Vips. There are some small lunch torterias down the hill on Plan de Allaya. There are always taxis waiting at the entrance. $3 US to go to Zocolo. Los Arcos is a good bet for reasonable price Mexican food. they seem to always be running 2x1 happy hour. For a beautiful view of the cathedral and Italian food, go to Marco polo.( be willing to wait for seat by balcony to see cathedral. order from pizza list for affordable delicious pizza. the shrimp pizza was my favorite). Items from traditional Italian menu are little pricey. Restaurant Mananitas is one of the best 25 restaurants in the world but I heard you will spend $ 80 per person which is ridiculously high for Mexico.

Enjoy Mexico. The news would have you think it is not safe. They Lie. Just use common sense and have a good time.

Other than it's location which is a short and inevitably cheap taxi ride from the heart of Cuernavaca it's hard to criticise this smart hotel. We stated for 6 nights and were very pleased with the attentive service and peaceful surroundings. You would never guess you were staying just off a busy main route out of town.
The room itself was great, stylish and comfortable with all the facilities except kettle ( a coffee perculator was provided with coffee supplied in the mini bar at a price). We had a room with balcony overlooking the manicured pool area.
We only had breakfast on the Sunday morning, this was a buffet affair and featured European as well as Mexican style options, my veggie girlfriend was catered for with fresh omelette provided without any fuss.
The heated pool looked lovely but was not tried out by us as we were to busy using the hotel as a base for travelling around and soaking up the Mexican sights

Plus points:
Nice pool & gardens / Spacious room / located away from main road / courteous staff / hew wing looks nicer if you can get a room there

Negative points:
Maintenance work starting at 11:30pm !! / also work during the day on busy holiday, spoiling the peace & quiet in the gardens / old part of hotel is a bit dated / Internet in room did not work & nobody came to help / no business room nor general Internet / 4kms to centre, or 10 - 15 mins in taxi (though could be viewed as positive)

Overall a little disappointed, was hoping to be have a relaxing stay, lounge by the pool with a bit of peace & quiet, but maintenance work at night & in the day prevented this. When I complained about the work at night, no explanation was given as to why this was allowed (you can't blame the workman).

Very friendly staff, delicious breakfast buffet. The hotel has a very nice new wing with a charming stone bridge connecting the two areas. Rooms in the new wing are some of the best in Cuernavaca.
