My fiance and I had a romantic getaway to Cuernavaca. Hotel is beautiful and restaurant food is good international and Mexican fare well presented with extremely friendly service. The beds are divine, and the decor of our junior suite was classically ravishing. However, maintenance workers tactlessly mowed the lawn as we tried to relax outdoors and reception was unhelpful in postponing the lawn mowing. Reception also made no attempt to replace the soiled envelope of "courtesy" paper found on the writing desk, and seemed apathetic when we mentioned the small reptilian visitor who somehow gained access to our bathroom. (the perils of tropical travel I suppose). Reception also did not inform us that that hotel would be locked after sundown which resulted in much knocking on doors and interrogation via intercom to identify ourselves. We were a bit put off by this. The hotel is very lovely, but I would have expected a bit more care from a boutique hotel with only 19 rooms.
