“Killer Spot, Great Experience”

I've stayed at Casa de las Piedras now twice in the past 2 years and have had a great experience both times. You are sleeping on the hillside among the trees and just steps above Zihua's main beach La Ropa. Plenty of restaurants close by, beach activities, and a close walk to town.

Grace, the owner, is a kind and welcoming person and is a pleasure to deal with. If you are looking for a unique vacation experience I highly recommend it. I look forward to going back.

“fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

I just got back from a vacation with my husband and two of our friends. Casa de las Piedras blew me away. I loved the hummingbirds and the tiny spotted skunk and the amazing flora. The kitchen was equipped with what we needed - even a coffee grinder and one of those lever-arm citrus juicers so we could take advantage of the fruits in the market. It was so relaxing and beautiful and Grace was a wonderful host. I just have two wishes - that I could have postponed coming back home until the rain stopped in Seattle and that I had thought to bring more lightweight, long clothes so that I felt more protected from the mosquitoes after dark and before bed.

“Natural beauty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

I just got back from a week in Zihuatenejo at the wonderful Casa de las Piedras. The location is perfect - just up the hill from the best beach in the area. There were just enough amenities to be comfortable and the layout was designed to be very peaceful and natural. I miss it already. Grace was a wonderful hostess and helped us figure out some very fun things to do. The weather was perfect and I am so glad we did not ever have to be "inside".

As others have said, the insects are no joke - bring your bug spray and keep that mosquito netting closed!

I stayed with Grace over New Years Eve. I will say this... Grace I had a GREAT time, you were so welcoming, warm, sweet, and kind. I tell everyone I know to go to Zihua and when they do to stay at your place. I felt like I was so close but yet so far from civilization. Thank you for your hospitality :)

“peaceful beauty treehouse living-glamorous camping”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

I just got home from a wonderful trip to Zihuatanejo, Mexico. We stayed at Casa de las Piedras for 12 days in the hummingbird house. It was so nice having our little home away from home to go back to at the end of the day after long days adventuring/spent at the beach. The hummingbird house is equipped with a kitchen, restroom (open shower with hot water), little dining room/loungey area complete with hammock, a nice little roofed open deck complete with couches (perfect for reading a book and relaxing after a long day), and the best part...a bedroom upstairs with open walls and a beautiful view of the ocean at La Ropa Beach(plus another hammock). It was a perfect little place for us as it was all open and yet private at the same time. All of the beds are super comfortable, have mosquito nets, and were freshly made for us every day. The house was very clean. It is simple living but not so simple that you are without the amenities you'd want on vacation. This stay at Casa de Las Piedras really made my trip the relaxing, simple living style I have been craving. The owner of the property Grace, is a beautiful gem. She is genuinely the nicest, sweetest woman you have ever met. She is so full of life and always on her own adventure. She is a great source of information and will recommend only the best things to do for you. You can tell she really takes care of her property and really cares about all her guests. I would HIGHLY recommend a stay at any of the houses here. Each one is unique and provides all the amenities you'd need. The walk between each house is very simple and kind of like living in a community but still having your own place to go back to. The walk down to the beach is also super easy and La Ropa beach is amazing. So fun, so much to do, but also not so crowded that you can't find a spot to relax. The water is perfect for swimming and there are a ton of delicious restaurants to eat at. Casa de las Piedras is the perfect spot to stay in Zihuatanejo as it is comfortable, relaxing, unique, and super close to my favorite beach La Ropa. Grace, the owner will make your trip unforgettable, I promise. I wish I could go back and stay there forever. Please go enjoy for me, and say hi to the kitties!! Thank you so much Grace for a wonderful stay, I will never forget it, and I can't wait to come back ASAP!! Love you -Lisa
