“The best Zihua has to offer!”

We stayed at the Brisas from January 22 till the 30th and it was amazing. The hotel is so charming and comfortable. The staff is always there to help with your every need. The hotel is kept spotless. We enjoyed the free breakfast with our room reservation and it was so good. Martin in the resturant was always available to answer any questions we may have had. Our room was spotless every day and we would come back with petals on our bed of flowers and other creations. The drinks and the food at the resturant are very good and reasonable. The staff in the lobby was so friendly and Miguel is awesome! We will go back in January of 2012. This will truly be our home away from home!

“My first review.”

I must start by saying that my wife and AI have traveled a fair amount in the last 10 years. We have visited 18 countries and 45 of the US states. I look at Tripadvisor for clues about hotels but must admit that I am lazy and don't write reviews. I feel compelled to write this review. We visited the hotel from Jan 15 to Jan 22. It was the most relaxed and refreshing vacation that I can remember. The facilities were very good. The beds are very comfortable. The common areas were open, airy and inviting. Breakfast was a great way to start the day. Food was very good. The one thing that stood out the most was the staff of the hotel. They were the best I have ever seen. They greeted every need we had with a smile and an attitude that they were very happy we were there. They were never intrusive but never missing. Maid service was unsurpassed by any hotel I have been in. One can read the same kind of reviews about other hotels but please keep in mind this was the only hotel that compelled me to write a review. My wife and I will return in January again. The first time we have repeated a stay in a hotel. Happy travelling!

“Our 2nd Stay and Even Better!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

First, to those who worry about going to Mexico, we've never had problems in Zihuatanejo, nor did we experience anything but warm and friendly people on this trip.

Now to Brisas Del Mar! This was our second stay and we knew we'd come back after our visit last year.

THIS IS IMPORTANT: This hotel has the most comfortable beds of any hotel I've stayed in Mexico!!!

The staff remains excellent with first rate service. They go out of their way to be of help...this includes the front desk staff, housekeepers, and restaurant staff.

We stayed in the same Master Suite that we had the year before and we could tell that the owners had done refreshing of the balcony area...fresh paint, everything in excellent working order. Our bed had flowers displayed on it with the words "Welcome Back" spelled in flower petals and there was a gift waiting for us for being a return guest.

This year, as a promotion, breakfast was included. We were pretty certain that we'd try it, but doubted we'd have breakfast each day there (we like to mix it up on where we eat), but the breakfasts were so good (excellent fruit plate, eggs any style, fresh pastries and tortillas), that we couldn't see why we wouldn't want to eat ocean view and take advantage of the deal.

We had friends come over from La Casa Que Canta (a very high-end hotel) for an afternoon, and they were impressed with how nice our hotel was. We lunched at the hotels Bistro Del Mar and the food was excellent.

So many places there to relax...whether you want sun or shade....and I guess we're big kids, because we love, love, love, the waterslide!

Thanks to all who made our trip special at the hotel....especially front desk help: Miguel, Janet, and Francisco...and at the restaurant: Martin, who always made sure we had hot coffee in our cups at breakfast time....and wonderful margaritas and guacamole in the afternoon.

STAY HERE!!!

I have to say that being a first time traveler to Mexico I was a little bit nervous but I have to say I had a fantastic time.
From Martin our waiter to Senior Sacromento at happy hour it was a relaxing stay I will be staying there again next year.

“Perfect small boutique hotel with attention to detail, lush gardens, and relaxing lounge chairs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

My husband and I traveled to Zihautanejo between Christmas and New Year's. We absolutely loved our vacation, and this was attributed mostly to Brisas del Mar! The grounds are beautifully maintained; around every corner is a small waterfall, plants, or flowers to make you feel like you are on vacation.

The location is perfect for walking into downtown along the malecon. The other perk is that if you don’t want to walk, a cab is only 30/35 pesos into town – so cheap! This location is within walking distance of Margaritas for breakfast, and Kau Kan, for dinner. The beach, Playa Madera, is not the most popular in Zihau for tourists, but we found that it makes it much quieter than the more popular Playa la Ropa. However, the sand at Playa la Ropa is softer and lighter. We did not spend any time laying on Playa Madera, and only an hour in the ocean. We preferred the pool area instead.

The pool area at Brisas del Mar was our favorite part. This is the exact opposite of high-rise hotels with hundreds of rooms. There were about 20 lounge chairs around the pool and never once were they all full. In addition, they do not play music over speakers, which allows you to hear only the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. The lounge chairs are super comfortable and for those that like to be extra cozy, there are extra wide lounge chairs for two. The waterslide into the pool was surprisingly fast and fun. We enjoyed this every day. They also provide poolside drink and meal service. Martin always did a great job of taking care of us!

We stayed in a Master Suite room with a jacuzzi and a hammock on the balcony. Several nights we hung out in the Jacuzzi while watching a movie on a portable dvd player, but the best part was the breathtaking view of the bay in the background. Nearly every morning, we had breakfast on the balcony as well. The room was incredibly spacious (more so, since it was an end unit). The king size bed had soft linens and multiple pillows, so you can choose the one you like best. The beds were beautifully decorated with flower art each day by our maid. She even spelled out Happy New Year for us. It was a thoughtful touch. The air conditioning worked well and cooled down the room in no time. It was quiet when on and operated by remote control, which was nice when wanting to operate it from other parts of the room. The bathroom was just okay. It had double sinks and a european style shower (no door, no curtain). The bath towels were inconsistent. Some were soft and new, others were worn and older.

The front desk staff was always helpful, whether with dinning accommodations, cabs, or late checkout. The lobby was decorated with a Christmas tree and nativity scene, which made us feel at home even when on vacation during the holiday season. Carolla is the friendly parrot that hangs out in a little inlet just off the lobby. When we walked by, she would always say, "Hello", just another one of the small details to make you smile on your trip.

Brisas del Mar is an excellent choice for your vacation to Zihautanejo! You will be well taken care of and will leave far from disappointed. We can’t wait to go back.

Room Tip: Stay in room 4, Mazatlan. It is an end unit with a jacuzzi that is more private than others.
