I have stayed at Raul and the Three Marias twice. it is cheap, but very basic (cold water showers). The view from the patio is great and they get regulars coming every year so you can meet lots of people who love to tell you about Zihautenjo and give you ideas/directions on where to go.

Zihautenjo is a beautiful place to vacation. The weather has one temperature HOT and SUNNY. So the cold water showers sound bad from here, but they are not so bad when you are hot.

Owners are very helpful.

It's been years since I stayed here, but I remember it as being clean and comfortable and a great value. The communal terrace is the place to be and watching folks come across the foot bridge from town was one of the primary activities. When I was there the "bridge" was wooden planks and wire - think Indian Jones. We could also watch the fishermen come in with their catches and haggle with the folks from the market. Everything in Zihautenajo is within walking distance except the very good beaches and you can get a water taxi to them.I'd go back and many Canadians seem to do that every year.

My partner and I had a fabulous visit to Raul3Marias a few years ago. Although there is no decor to speak of in the concrete rooms, they were so very very clean. We spent most of our time sitting on the spacious communal terrace area reading books and soaking in the sun and peacefulness. This hotel is an excellent value and a great cheap sleep in a really Mexican destination.
