My wife and I just arrived back to snow in Canada after having spent 10 days in Zihautanejo. (our last 4 days at Casa Cuitlateca) First of all, we enjoyed our time in Zihautanejo very much. After going to the Mayan Riviara a few times, and the Baha once, we know Zihautanejo is our favourite place.
Casa Cuitlateca was definately one of the highlights. All the other reviews that we read on trip advisor are true and accurate. In four days there I got more relaxed than I've ever been before. I found myself lying in the palapa looking out past the beautiful pool and ponds to the ocean visa beyond for hours at a time.
We met so many Mexican people that were helpful, kind, and warm, We hope to come back soon and try to see them again. The entire Casa Cuitlateca staff is included in this group. They didn't just get their jobs done well, but more importantly, really added to our time there with their charm and warmth.
If you are looking for the most relaxing atmosphere, beautiful suroundings, and/or romantic getaway, this is it.
We will recommend it to friends and family, and we will go back.

Casa Cuitlateca is the perfect place to get away. It's a small boutique hotel (only five guest rooms) with everything going for it: beautiful views, great infinity pool with koi pond, clean & comfortable rooms, and serves great food. Besides the amenities of the establishment that make this place so attractive, it's the staff that makes it truly enjoyable. Barb was helpful on the front end, making the reservations easy and answering all our pre-trip inquiries. Alfredo, Jesus, or Amador are always around to help with any requests, and Lilliana and the other ladies made the best food we had on the trip (the included breakfast has a huge selection to satisfy everyone). The owner Terry was also frequently on site making sure everything was perfect. He’s also a wealth of information with good recommendations for what to see and do, but if you don’t want to you really don’t have to leave the place – it’s that good. In short, if you’re looking for well-appointed, comfortable accommodations in a totally relaxed atmosphere, this is the place.

Friends living in Zihau recommended this boutique hotel for our honeymoon. The Trip Advisor reviews we read made the decision easy. We were expecting something special and it exceeded our expectations. Everything positive said and written is true. My one and only complaint was the lack of bendable straws which required me to lift my head to drink the best mohito ever made!! Terry had a box of bendable straws at the bar the next day!! How awesome is that!? Additionally we brought our fresh caught fish to the on site resturant and Jesus made the most amazing torritas and ceviche!! We traveled to Zihuatanejo between Christmas & New Years 2011, and chose Casa Cuitlateca to stay. I'm happy to report that it was a fantastic decision! We loved the size of Casa Cuitlateca (just 5 rooms total in the entire place) as well as the laid-back atmosphere & beauty of the property. The staff was also super helpful as well.

We stayed in the Puebla Room & would highly recommend it (or the Oaxaca room), as the view of the bay is gorgeous from both rooms.

We will most certainly stay here again when we go back to Zihua!
