“Casa Manana was the perfect end to a wonderful Mexican holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 April 2010

Our 3 day stay in Casa X was, in a word, perfect. The open plan- 2 walls and curtains- was a unique experience, letting in all the soothing sounds of the surf and the birds and the warm breezes.
Mike and Vivienne , the friendly and most helpful owners, have created a beautiful and romantic oasis- well stocked, clean and tastefully decorated.
We would return in a heartbeat!

“a lovely villa on the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2009

stayed at casa manana 7, it was perfect, practically on the beach although its was far too hot for us to use it!! the pool was clean and maintained. the area is really great. its locacted at the bottom of a hill so perhaps not so good for buggies or wheelchairs. but the taxis are really cheap. the local buses are even cheaper and jump on one to visit puerto vallarta main area, if you go to valla adventure which is about a 15 min bus ride they offer some great days out. we went scuba diving and the returned on a catamaran and the staff are wonderful, we also did the jungle zip wire trip was just out of this world.

the villa itself is hugh with 2 bedrooms. the front room has a big double bed and a single. the other has 2 king size double beds. the kitchen area is just wonderful with an island cooker/oven.

the only 1 fault i can say about this place is that the airconditioning isnt very cold but then the roof is thatched and there is a gap in the eves so perhaps thats why it wasnt working sufficiently or it could be that it was extremely hot/humid.

but all in all i would return its worth the money, and the staff are really helpful.

at the top of the hill accross the road there is a quad bike place well worth a go as they take you right through the jungle a great day

“A very special place”

I just returned home from my third stay at Casa Manana. As usual it was absolutely beautiful. The staff is very welcoming and accomodating. Mike and Vivienne (the owners) were wonderful and I enjoyed being able to sit poolside and visit with them. They were extremely helpful. Our group had Leonarda cook for us and the food was amazing. Casa Manana has a very authetic feel and is definitely a special place.

“Another wonderful trip to Casa Manana”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2008

We've just returned from our third trip to Casa Manana, staying in Casa VI this time. A 20 minute cab ride from the airport and we were at our home away from home ready to spend the next two weeks relaxing, eating great food, and enjoying the beach. We accomplished all of those goals with ease! The full kitchen in each unit allows you to choose to cook meals or enjoy the fantastic restaurants nearby. We chose to cook more this time...the opening of the new Mega grocery store just south of town made getting groceries an easier experience. It's a fantastic store with great selection of meat, seafood, vegetables and every you'd ever need. Try the whole grain bread from the bakery. A number of BBQs are available for guest use - we BBQd prawns, steaks (New York from Mega.. yumm) and hamburgers.

Beds and bathrooms are important to me, and none of the units at Casa Manana disappoint. Our king size bed was very comfortable, and the Mexican tile bathroom is beautiful and functional. The linens are nice, soft cottons that don't have that crunchy "hotel" feel. Towels are thick and soft, and lots of them.

There's lots to do in and around Casa Manana, if that's your pleasure. We had long walks every day, exploring the neighbourhoods, and walking along the beach. The local markets in Bucerias are fun and full of hidden gems. The Sunday market (under the bridge and across the highway) is home to a fruit vendor that is to die for. Cut up pineapple, mango, watermelon, papaya, drenched in lime juice and spiced with salt and chili. We now believe there is NO other way to eat fruit. Lots of activity to watch on the beach. The wind came up in the afternoon, and the kite boarders were a blast to watch. This beach is very swimmable... at different times you can play in the waves or swim in the very calm waters. We also really enjoy the pool that many of the casas open onto. No "closed at 9PM" rules here... if you feel like a quiet dip at 11PM it's there for you. The beachfront patio with palapas is a wonderful place to read a book, or socialize with your neighbours. Happy hour sometimes just happens! We were delighted to see that our fellow guests from last year were back for more, too.

This is a peaceful, restful place to holiday. From the first visit you too will feel this is your home away from home.

“A Private Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2007

Just returned from a week at Casa Manana, where a large group of us rented out the entire place. It was a FANTASTIC experience, and the property is set up to perfectly handle a group such as ours. The individual casitas offer privacy for each family, while the central pool, patio and beachfront palapas offer wonderful public areas in which to sun, play, and dine. We opted to have Leonarda cook us a huge group dinner every night; not only is her cooking outstanding, healthy, and varied, but a communal dinner gave us some wonderful bonding time when the entire group could get together to share the day's experiences and enjoy each others' company. The town of Bucerias is quite small, and PV is almost an hour away by car; but if you enjoy keeping to yourself and playing in the pool and sea all day, this could be the ideal location for you. And if you're looking for a locale for a large group vacation such as ours, I can't think of a better set-up.

One important note: Since Casa Manana feels like your own private resort, it's easy to get a false sense of security. Remember that the property is still accessible to those coming in from the street or up from the beach! Our group had several things stolen overnight when we left them out on the patios and around the grounds, and in fact one night one of the casitas was burgled when the occupants left the front door unlocked. No fun, but -- no different than anywhere else. Remember to take the same precautions you'd take anywhere else: lock the doors to your room, and don't leave things outside overnight. And also remember to bring copious amounts of insect repellent -- it's a very buggy area.

All in all, we had a fantastic time. The property is gorgeous, the staff is helpful, the beach is great for swimming and bodysurfing/boogieboarding, and there's nothing like being in your own private little oceanfront villa. Que bueno!!
