“The perfect location in Puerto Vallarta”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2010

Villas Franchesca and Kikeya are side-by-side and owned by the same individual. These villas are located in Centro, just 3 blocks from the city centre. Hundreds of restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance and there is even a bike rental shop a couple of doors away. Our family of 5 adults stayed in Villa Kikeya for two weeks in Dec. 2009 and have nothing but rave reviews. Robert was excellent to deal with and gave us invaluable tips on P.V., Lorena looked after the housekeeping daily and was a pleasure to get to know. The villas are in a mixed neighborhood of local residents and tourists and it was great to get a feel for how the the "real" people of this city live. The villa is spacious, great for two couples and had fabulous views of the city and the ocean from the roof patio. The traditional enclosed patio with plunge pool off the master bedroom was a wonderful place to read in the heat of the day or to have breakfast in the morning. Wireless internet and lots of channels on a large screen TV were appreciated by my children. A washer and dryer are provided which was VERY convenient. My only caution is that if you have difficulty climbing steep hills or stairs, you will have to use a cab for this location - it was perfect for us because the stairs up from the lower streets gave us lots of good exercise! We will definitely stay at Villa Kikeya again when visiting Puerto Vallarta.

“Amazing, couldnt ask for any better”

Incredible stay in Villa Kikeya. The villa is even more beautiful than it looks on the photos. Robert the owner greated us when we arrived on our 8am flight, and provided us with a tour of both villas, took us for breakfast, then to the market to buy delicious fresh shrimp and tortillas and then dropped us off at the Mega to buy our supplies for a week. If you are staying here, the best thing to do is buy some groceries and alcohol on arrival so you have stuff available, the kitchen is fully stocked and thanks to us there is now salt and pepper :) Make margaritas or sangria in the late afternoon as well as some salsa and guacamole and enjoy an afternoon snack and bevies on the terrace while watching the sunset over the bay. The villa is completely private and you have two decks for sunning so you can even get a tanline free tan! There are two bedrooms, and two baths both with decks off of the rooms, there is ac but we didnt use it and simply stuck to the fans. if you want you can take advantage of the laundry facilities available to make sure you have plenty of clean clothes.
I highly recommend taking breakfast at el patio de mi casa which is just a couple of doors down and enjoy the organic breakfast, jazz music and the charming staff all for about $5. Tapas is another wonderful resto in the area where we enjoyed sangria and tapas one evening. If you are looking for a truly mexican experience there is a litros place near the malecon and distillery restaurant that will mix you up a liter of your favorite mixed drinks for 40 pesos, I recommend a paloma or extra spicy michelada.
All in all this was a fabulous place to stay, there is no need for a car because you can walk everywhere, there are wonderful restaurants nearby, and you can also cater to yourself!

“Villa Kikeya - AMAZING”

Villa Kikeya was an absolutlely incredible place to stay over the May long weekend! A friend and I recently went to Puerto Vallarta and Robert proved to be far more than a property owner, he was a great host! He went above and beyond to make our stay as memorable and as comfortable as possible. The Villa itself has an amazing view of the city and the beach, is a short walk to EVERYTHING, incredible restaurants are nearby, as are gorgeous shops, galleries, nightclubs, etc. The villa is just as advertised on the website, if not better! the rooms are spacious and clean and the patio / pool off of the lower level bedroom is fantastic! I would very highly recommend this villa (and Villa Franchesca nextdoor - same owner) to anyone looking for a memorable vacation in Vallarta! :)

“Amazing place!!!!”

The villa is amazing, it has everything you need. I would go back in a heartbeat. Not only that, Robert is the most helpful man. He made our trip easy and advised us what were the hotspots, took us on a tour and if we couldn't work the appliances he was there in a flash to help us.
The villa is roomy and beautifully done, with a maid service and a pool man. We spent a very happy week there and would reccomend it to anyone. It's also close to the centre with all the shops and beaches but far enough away to make you feel it's your own haven away from the hustle and bustle. It was a real home away from home for us which was brilliant, especially since we took our 7 month old daughter.
We all loved it.

“Villa Franchesca and Villa Kikaya...definitely the places to stay in PV”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 June 2007

It always seems a bit dicey, trying to book a place sight unseen that doesn't have much of a history of reviews...so we were very pleased with our experience of this villa. In a great location, four blocks from the boardwalk (I wouldn't have wanted to be closer, it's just outside the streets with shops, etc.). This villa and the one next door are almost identical, both 2 plus bedrooms, two stories, with a nice refeshing mini pool in the back. Villa Kikeya next door has a little better view, and more open upstairs floor plan, Villa Franchesca has a little office and the less open floor plan which worked better for us with a baby (Robert owns both). The two bedrooms also were nicely distanced from each other which gave us and the couple we stayed with nice privacy. What puts this place over the top though, like any place, was the owner. Robert was accommodating to our every request (we seemed to have quite a few) and went out of his way to do things to improve our time in the villa, all of which made our stay much more enjoyable. He also gave as a bit of a discount for staying a full week in the low season. I'd recommend this place to anyone, and would come back here without hesitation when returning to PV...such a rare recommendation for me that I actually signed up to Trip Advisor to make it after many years of taking advantage of other peoples' reviews!
