We had a fabulous relaxing time at the Intercontinental Presidente’. They have a beautiful beach on one side of the hotel and a jungle on the other. Leslie, the general manager made special arrangements for our anniversary and our room upgrades which was much appreciated. Cecelia at the front desk was very accommodating and friendly and did everything possible to make our stay perfect. Fernando, at the beach bar rang a bell to notify guest of whales in the bay and made a “mean” pina colada! Roberto knew where every place in town was and he made sure our cab drivers knew where we wanted to go! Carlos always had a smile on his face and was especially helpful by the pool and on the beach. He even arranged for a personalized message to be written in the sand for us, complete with flowers! The entire restaurant staff was especially friendly and always willing to cook up a little something extra if requested! Pay extra and stay on the 10th floor. The rooms are awesome not to mention the view. This is definitely a secluded beach at least 6 miles out of town, so if you want peace and quiet and privacy in a romantic setting, this is the place for you!

We just returned from one night at this hotel. Thank goodness we only went for the weekend and did not have to spend any additional time at this hotel. The hotel was quite a distance from downtown (20 mins in a taxi) which of course meant it was even further from the airport (45 mins in a taxi). There were roadworks so that didn't help. The room was average. The service average. The food average. Room service was noted in the hotel booklet as finishing at midnight, however, we rang at 11.15pm and found that the kitchen had already closed. The bar was even closed by this time. When booking this hotel I was swayed by the recent five spot ratings on tripadvisor, but we can only suspect that these reviews were not legitimate. A total disappointment.

This is a lovely hotel in the best location, a few miles south of old Puerto Vallarta. My husband and I booked a vacation for a great price and agreed that this was the best place we have stayed so far in Puerto Vallarta. (This was our 6th trip to the area.)
The staff were very helpful and friendly-- everyone from the restaurant staff, front desk, maid service, to the personnel who served drinks and snacks on the beach or by the pool.
All the rooms are ocean view with balconies. The view was spectacular-- we saw whales almost every day! The Beach is beautiful and amazingly mesmerizing! We had a lot of fun playing in the surf and then at end of the day the sound of the surf would lull us to sleep.
When we wanted to go into the city we just hopped a bus for a scenic 20 minutes into Puerto Vallarta for just 7 pesos (about 75 cents US)
We loved every minute and will definitely come back to this hotel in the future!
