“Charming, Relaxing, Immaculate Garden Setting”

We stayed in a 3rd floor penthouse with two very large rooms in Los Tules in January. The view from our very spacious balcony was beyond spectacular. Watching the ocean, seeing dolphins jumping, hearing the crash of waves and feeling the breeze from our king size bed -- so relaxing. The restaurant on the grounds was delicious highly recommend the fresh squeezed OJ and the butter fish! Pools and grounds surrounding us lush, tropical and view from our restaurant also great. This property gets you away from the hustle and bustle and you are not surrounded by a crowd. Hector speaks English at the front area and also does fishing tours on the side. We went sans children which was much easier as there were some stairs to navigate etc. to our room. Plus this was a romantic getaway

“Great place to vacation. Few annoyances Los Tules must address.”

My parents have been coming to Los Tules for 27 years through a time share commitment. They have enjoyed going back year after year. A few years ago it showed signs of wear, but I noticed this year there is a new coat of paint on all the buildings and upgrades in our condo. The extensive grounds are probably the most beautiful in Puerto Vallarta. The many pools and tennis courts are in excellent condition. The food at the poolside Cafe is very good.

The only complaint I have is the noise on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 10 pm to 6 AM ALL NIGHT LONG!!!! There is an outside disco next to building #6 that keeps everyone awake. Obviously there is no noise ordinance or disturbance of the peace in PV otherwise the police would stop the excessive noise makers. It would be considerate to stop the noise after 11 PM on Thursday and 1AM on Fri and Sat. so people can sleep. Los Tules needs to address this menace.

Another problem that I encountered was slow wifi internet connection at the Cafe Chapultapec. That wasn't the end of the world. My pet peave was the noise---we come for a nice quiet vacation and are kept up 3 nights out of 7.

Room Tip: Stay away from building #6--next to disco-difficult to sleep Th, Fri and Saturday nights.

“We go back every year! Love it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We have spent a week at Los Tules every year for the past three years. We love the value, the beach, the pools, the location.....
Okay, yes....the time share people can be hardsell. You just ignore them. They'll get the hint. They don't bother us anymore. At check in, we just tell them "no thank you" and they leave us alone. I suppose for people who aren't used to the time share spiel, it would be really annoying. Just don't get drawn in...don't even give them the chance to talk...tell them you're busy and you need to go and leave it at that.
Check in can take a bit of time if you've never been, as they explain the pool towels, location of things, inventory of dishes, etc.....but, once that's over, it's pretty smooth sailing.
We stay in a beachfront condo that is absolutely beautiful. It overlooks the beach and the main pool/restaurant. The condo is spacious and clean and has lots of windows and doors that can be opened to let the ocean breeze in. The patios are fabulous and have tables and chairs, and loungers on them. We eat our breakfast outside every day and enjoy the ocean!
The kitchens are fully equipped, so you can walk across the street to the supermarket and buy whatever you could possibly need and eat in, which is really nice. Also, across the street there is a Pizza Hut (never tried it) if you really need to fill a pizza fix.
There are like 10 pools at Los Tules! You can always find one that isn't crowded. There is even a kids pool, which is fabulous! The pools are always clean and warm and the people around them are always very friendly.
There is a restaurant at the main pool that has great drink specials that change every day. Most days, we'll get the 2 for 1 special for that day and the drinks are big and strong. Perfect for enjoying around the pool in the sunshine! They also have good lunch and dinner and some great snacks! We have always had good luck at the restaurant at Los Tules.
The location is fabulous! It's close enough to old Puerto Vallarta that you can walk if you want. We usually use the public busses that are less than a dollar round trip. You can be in town in 5 minutes, where all of the bars, restaurants and shops are. Plus, within a few blocks of Los Tules, there are tons of fast food type restaurants, shops, banks, liquor stores, etc. Everything is very convenient.
The beach is small and divided in two sections, but there is security, it is clean and there are loungers and chairs with umbrellas on the beach. There are many venders that come by selling various wares, you will have this no matter where you stay in PV. You can get some good deals this way. In fact, we have booked numerous tours with vendors on the beach and had great luck! Always a good price and exactly what we were looking to do. You can also book tours at the kiosk right by the main pool. The people that work there are friendly, helpful and speak great English. They also have a little library of books that you can read while you're there, which is really nice.
Please keep in mind that this is Mexico. If you leave food out on the counters, you will have ants. It's not anything to do with the condo itself, it's the location. :-) I've seen others post about ants....and just know that if you don't leave food out, there won't be any.
We LOVE Los Tules and plan on going back for many years to come!!!

“Fun with Family and Friends”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We stayed at Los Tules the first week of January 2012 and loved it! My brother and cousins have been going to Los Tules for 15 years and always come back with stories of how relaxing and fun it is at Los Tules. We stayed in a ground floor room that looked out on the ocean. Every morning I went out on the patio with my cup of coffee and watched the waves. Our room had three bedrooms and three bathrooms plus a family room and small kitchen.
There was plenty of space for everyone (4 adults and 2 teenagers)and the teenagers didn't feel like they were always with us. We went to the grocery store across the street the day we arrived and bought food for breakfast and snacks (the store was like a Super Target).
We ate at the restaurant for lunch and dinner a few times and thought the food was good and reasonably priced--even the teens found plenty to eat and no complaints! We had family staying at Los Tules at the same time so it was fun to hang as a group, but when we
wanted less commotion we could be on our own.

The only complaint I have is that the internet connection was poor and I could rarely access it with my IPAD. I was able to check email on the hotel's computers for a nominal fee, though.
There was concern about loud music from a new club next door, but the week we were
there it was toned down and we had no problem sleeping. Looks like I will probably be back next year!

Room Tip: Stay in buildings 5 and 6--close to the ocean and restaurant

“LOVE IT”

I travel to Los Tules every year with a large group of women and we all love the resort. It has everything we need and it is close to the store and restaurants and town is just a short bus or taxi ride away, or long walk. The grounds are very clean and safe. I have been visiting this property since 1989 and have never had an unpleasant experience here.
