We stayed at the Hotel Suites Marbella for a week spring break 1999,
and we loved it! The hotel was quiet and had that quaint Mexican feel,
all the rooms had white stucco walls and terracotta tiled floors and we
had a kitchen in our room. The rooms were spacious and very clean. My
favorite part of the room was the open air shower! When we stayed there
we had a free daily breakfast and they had a free happy hour every
night with snacks by the pool, it was a great way to meet other guests
at the hotel!
The only person in our group who did not like the hotel was my stepdad, but he is more of a deluxe hotel kind of guy. I admit it was a little frustrating that VERY few to none of the staff spoke english, and if they did it was very little english, then again, we were in Mexico we should have made more of an effort to learn the language!!(and all the staff was all still very friendly dispite the language barrier) The pool was a little on the small side, but never crowded or busy, but you did have to get there fairly early to get a pool side chair. The only other thing I would have liked would have been to be closer to the beach...to get to the beach we had to cross the street and cut through a hotel, it was less than a 5 minute walk, but it would have been nice to have had the convenience of being right on the beach already.
Overall the Hotel Suites Marbella was a great hotel, and I would definately stay there if I went back to Puerto Vallarta!

We were there for Christmas 2000. It was hard to find any staff that spoke english. Free snacks during happy hour included boiled pigs feet!
Mostly only the staff ate these. The hotel let creepy old German people go naked in the pool and there was a big oil slick on the water surface - not kept clean. That sucked because this place is NOT on the beach at all. Our suite was quite large with a fridge and stove, but it also had a broken screen door off the bedroom which resulted in unwanted roomates including a spider as big as my hand, frogs and geckos - we slept with the lights on. My husband got drunk and accidentally pulled the towel rack off the bathroom wall when he fell down. It made a big hole in the stucko wall - it was fixed when we came back from shopping and no one said a thing to us about it. We had an open air shower in our suite - not very private and full of bugs. Not much hot water. I don't care how many stars your travel agent tells you this place is, it's only a little bit better than sleeping on the street. Wouldn't stay here again - go all Inclusive!

A group of us stayed at the Suites Marbella in the Spring of 1998 for a one week spring break. We really enjoyed the two bedroom suite, which included a kitchen and living room area. The courtyard was great with lush vegetation and a great pool, all hidden away from the street. There was a true authentic mexican feeling about the place. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Overall, a great experience at very reasonable rates.

We have stayed at the Marbella 2 previous times and we would go back in a moment. We even looked at purchasing one of the condos for sale. If you like a clean quaint truly Mexican hotel this is for you. If you loe Big American hotels this isn't for you. It is close to everything and is gorgeous. The beach is accross the street and a 5 minute walk through the lobby of the Fiesta which we walked ever morning. Go next door to a food supermarket like safeway or albertson's and pick up anything. Jump on a bus for 3 pesos.33 cents us and head downtown for sight seeing. This is one of the most beuatiful and frinedly hotels I have ever been in and I have stayed at the Marriott in Aruba etc and I like this better as I like to enjoy the culture of the country I am visiting.
