My wife and I had visited LCV for sunset drinks in their awesome roof-top patio and had special suppers in their fantastic restaurant; but we decided to spend a couple nights here at the end of our two week Mexico adventure before flying home. The hospitality was great and the meals were amazing once again. This hotel will not be everyone's 'cup of tea', but for the relaxed casual traveller, this is a nice spot. The history and atmosphere of the hotel is great, the rooms are clean, and the staff are great.

Amazing authentic experience for those who expect to unplug from the amenities of a Hilton, and experience a VACATION. Vientos is a well-kept old hotel up the hill in old town PV and run by people who want to maintain its quaint qualities. Don't expect a/c, teevee, and in-room phone service (thank God), but do expect great views, the best rooftop bar, best margarita (bar none), a beautiful courtyard, fine restaurant, and SUPERB central location. My wife and I are adventurous and we enjoyed the work-out hikes getting up and around the hills, dining at some of the finest restaurants along Mexico's Pacific Coast. PS - The pool is decorative only.

If you are a fit and adventurous traveller that wants to avoid the cattle trough at the all inclusive then this is a good place to stay. We stayed for 11 days just at the end of The Festival of the Virgin of Guadalupe and enjoyed the parades and vitality of the city. Granted it did make the sleeping a little tougher but a 5 minute walk puts you right into the middle of old Puerto Vallarta. They serve the best Lime Margaritas on the roof that I have ever had and we watched the sunset there 6 of the nights. Chez Elana, the restaurant provided excellent food the two nights that we ate there but being the adventerous type we ate at probably 30 different places and all were fine. The worst meal was the most expensive and it was on the beach. We met five new friends over breakfast and enjoyed talking with Gloria, the owner. We will definitly be back. The location is definitely not for people with with health issues as there is about a 300 foot elevation gain from sea level unless you taxi it. Clean, and with a very friendly staff.

My husband and I have just returned from our two week vacation to Puerto Vallarta. We stayed at an all inclusive resort in Bucerias, but for Christmas this year I gave my husband the gift of an overnight stay in downtown PV so we could experience the nightlife there.

I chose Los Cuatro Vientos (Four Winds) at random after viewing their website. We love ‘old Mexico’ and this hotel delivers just that. It’s simply charming, as is its host and owner, Gloria. We had a small, simple room on the 3rd floor overlooking the dipping pool. One flight up is the rooftop terrace, which view I found as stunning in the morning as at sunset. We met some of the other hotel guests and had a great chat over drinks, (terrific margaritas!) and watched the sunset before heading out for our night on the town. We also enjoyed a light breakfast with our fellow hotel guests in the morning.

Puerto Vallarta is built on the side of a mountain, so expect to climb, climb, climb. We walked everywhere during the day but in the evening we wimped out and took a very inexpensive taxi to the Malecon, a short five minute taxi ride. The hotel is close to everything you could want and the church bells added to the charm.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone with mobility issues, but it was perfect for us. Although it was a short visit, for one night only, we enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you Gloria, we look forward to seeing you again. We will return!
