“Old age hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Stayed there for 3 nights. The rooms are OK nothing fancy. Nice little balcony. The bathroom is very very small. The hotel is nice, it's a 3 star ONLY. We did not take the all inclusive because there are really good restaurants in Puerto Vallarta. Perfect location in the old PV. Walking distance of everything. Lot's of older persons. There was one lady around 75 years old that was walking in the pool for approximately 1h00 with her head phones and dancing away. It was cute but !!!. You need to watch for falling fruits by the pool. One fell on a long chair. Lucky nobody was sitting there at the time. Let's just say that her book was full of green stuff. It's a very quiet hotel which was nice. The service is OK. The pool is very nice. For the location i'ts worth it.

“Great place, great price.”

tayed in 2 different rooms during our 7 night stay, 3 in room 3 (on the ground floor) and 4 in room 309. The ground floor room had no windows so it was very dark which could be a benefit if you like to sleep in the dark. A benefit was your door opened out on the pool and since ours was in the corner, we had a little patio all to ourselves. I wanted more sun so they switched us up to the 3rd floor where we had more or less the same layout, but a patio in the back with a table a few chairs where we could look out to the street. Since there were windows by the front door, we were also able to get a great breeze. We loved the location. It’s at the end of a quiet street off the main street. It’s across the street from Don Susanna and its’ rooftop pool (which is semi heated and gets a lot of sun. The pool at the suites, while heated as well, didn’t get much sun in January. There was a large bed and a pull out couch. You could easily sleep 3 or 4 comfortably. Having a kitchen is GREAT. You can make coffee and breakfast before heading out, although there’s some great breakfast places within feet. Alternately, you can do a lunch or dinner at home and save on the nearby restaurants relatively high prices. As you move farther inland, the prices drop and that’s not a far walk at all. The staff was very friendly to me, was willing to help me practice my Spanish, and really tried to make sure we were happy. It’s not a 4 star property, but the price is very low and you get much more than you pay for. We would definitely return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor. #'s 1-9 will have more opportunity to get a breeze. Room 1 wil...

Rooms are adequate and the location is great - there is not much more that could be said as we did not have all inclusive

“This time tried the all inclusive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

The suites are still a great value as the rooms are roomy and the kitchenette allows you to prepare morning coffee while your partner wakes up and showers.

The all-inclusive food was "good" to "very good" with a broad selection at each meal. There is a good mixture of dishes during each week - there are three special nights: BBQ, Italian, Mexican. Even on the four other nights there is daily variation so meal boredom does not set in. In addition to the normal buffet selection, the hotel provides vouchers -- a "BBQ" dinner one for those staying for at least 4 days and a "speciality" dinner one for those staying for 7 days. The BBQ dinner menu is short and the meals are just OK -- BUT the speciality dinners are excellent (be sure to try the endive salad). Both presentation and the meal itself are top quality.

For those wanting a daily dose of gringo food they have a great "snack" bar with hamburgers hotdogs fries, etc. that is open all afternoon.

The drinks are great but, oddly, the hotel seems to restrict the all-inclusive people to only a couple of local beers - while we were there the selection was Tecate and Indio. An odd practice.

Service from all staff - reservations, front desk, busboys, maid, waiters, bar staff, restaurant greeters, buffet cooks, beach chair/towel service, entertainers, etc was great and all were friendly to us throughout our trip.

If you are looking for a comfortable, relaxing hotel with a good mix of gringos and nationals and a mix of young families and older couples I highly recommend the Los Arcos properties.

Room Tip: Upper floors and junior suites overlooking the pool area are the quietest

“Great value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

Spacious room with king sized bed and samll balcony ovearlooking pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location. close to everything in old Vallarta. You have access to all three pools. The roof top pool at sister hotel is quiet with fabulous views. Go to main pool if you want to see the iguanas. The all inclusive can be a good deal for a few nights but not necessary as there are terrific restaurants nearby and also small stores to buy a few groceries.
