Located in the historic district of Mazatlan, Mexico, the Casa de Leyendas is the ideal bed & breakfast. The stay is first-class at economy prices. The rooms and bath areas are spacious, the towels are big and thick, the beds are the most comfortable that we have found anywhere, and each room is decorated uniquely according to a theme. The breakfasts are fabulous, so filling that we usually don't eat until dinner. The Casa now operates McCaws which is a patio cafe with delicious sandwiches and a full bar. The Casa is only a half-block from the scenic malecon, a boardwalk/sidewalk that runs for 12 miles along the Bay of California where families swim, stroll, bike, etc. The owners, Glenn and Sharon Sorrie, are Americans who graciously offer every guest assistance with tourism, restaurants, arranging in-room massages, etc. as requested. In fact, their hospitality makes the Casa memorable and delightful! We have found the historic district and the Casa perfectly safe (in spite of the bad publicity about travel in Mexico).

Casa de Leyendas is in the historic district of town. The location is perfect and just a few steps from the Sea of Cortez. Very easy to get to if you are driving. Off street parking. Great bar, lots of expats. Glenn & Sharon do a completely professional job of running this first class B&B. They have thought of virtually everything.

The accomodations were excellent. Their website pictures represent how nice of a place it is. Very clean. Glenn, Sharon, and their staff are wonderful people. I only have positive things to say about them and their attention to detail. Macaws was excellent, too. Perfect location. Great food & entertainment within 5-10 minute walk or cab ride.

We just returned from Mazatlan. Our group of six (three couples) had a terrific week which was enabled by our stay with Glenn & Sharon at their Casa de Leyendas B&B. They are wonderful hosts and their staff is great! The B&B is decorated in a tastefully authentic way. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast each morning. If you're a light sleeper request a quiter room, but each has a sound machine which was useful for us.
The B&B is located in the historical district and is a very short block to the beach. The rooftop sunsets were beautiful! Many great resturants and some fun nightlife spots are located within a 5 minute walk. Our favorite resturant was Topolos...try the Mango Margarita! Ponchos in the Golden Zone was also quite good.
We had a great day trips to the zip line canopy tour and Stone Island (minus the persistant vendors). We were comforatably secure walking in the area using common sense precautions. It is a 15 minute walk to the market for shopping or people watching. The Cathederal and Plaza are on the route to the market. For a bit more adventure take the one hour hike up to the lighthouse. Glenn & Sharon can make recomendations and help tailor a trip to meet your interests.
