“Roomy suite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2007

We managed to secure two rooms, one bedroom and a suite. More room than we needed. Everyone at the hotel was friendly. Check-in/ check out were a breeze. Hotel has a nice beach, small heated pool, buses stop about every 5-15 minutes. Easy access to restaurants. Not in the golden zone, but north of Marina. There is a lot of new construction in the area, so a bit noisy. Would recommend if large family, over 2400 square feet in suite. One king upstairs, two doubles down with a pull out couch, also had two bath w/ showers. Beds were hard as mentioned in previous review by another, but in Mazatlan if your out fishing or on the beach, when you're tired...it's nice to have a clean, secure, and friendly place to hang your hat. Our suite had a patio on both sides. Also had a jacuzzi, but we didn't feel comfortable using it. Both units had a kitchen area, with a full size stove and refrigerator.

  • Liked — Rooms large enough to spread out and not feel like caged in.
  • Disliked — Pool area was small, not like resorts

“Be Ware of not buying this time share”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2007

I am an owner of this resort. The place is good. Wevonly stayed one time. The problem is, as an owner, they are not letting us use this resort at all. We own it but cannot use it. Does this feel strange to you? yes. That is why I am writing this review. If you go on the holiday time share sale website, you will see a lot of them for sell. Why? Because, an owner like me pays the maintence fee and are not allowed to stay. So, we stop paying the maintence fee and they take it from us and sell it as a bank repos. They sell out or book all the units to the new guests so that they can sell more. We don't get a chance to use it. I don't like there customer service. They don't know what they are doing. They don't answer their phones. If they do , you have to call back since there is no one who speaks English or the manager is out of and you need to call back. . All I am telling people is that if you go there, you better think twice before you buy this timeshare. Don't make a mistake like us. You may be able to stay one time after they sold you the resort. After that you are on your own. You pay the maintence fee every year but will not be allowed to stay. BEWARE!!!!

“Nice, but ....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2007

Outward appearance very nice, clean and well kept. Rooms spacious and airy but the beds were as hard as a rock. Extremely uncomfortable and ruined an otherwise good experience. Staff friendly and helpful but just couldn't overcome the lack of sleep from the terrible mattresses.

RCI catalog says restaurant on site. Location staff says no restaurant in quite a while. Cabs are cheap and easy to hail so getting out to eat no real problem. Really enjoyed eating at Playa Bruja about 5 minutes north by cab $5. Open air pilapa restaurant right on the beach.

Hotel right on the beach, enjoyed the beach, very peaceful area. Heated swimming pool on site, small but well maintained.

“quiet little hide-away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 March 2007

the staff is great and willing to help at anytime. don't plan on eating anywhere near this quiet little hide-away nearest place to eat is a 15 minute ride. Domonoes will deliver pizza though and its great. the sunset is fabulous dont miss it. the pool is small and romantic. the rooms large and clean. its worth the time to do one timeshare presentation so as to get the free stuff or cash but never get in a taxi or anything else when they come up and say "are you ready" they know that you are waiting for a spasific ride but they will try to trick you into going with them and you will end up at another time share presentation. change you money into pasoes you will get a far better deal at the shops. walmart is not too far and a nice ride through town to buy what you may want. be aware that masive building is going on around the building and noise will jar you awake at 7:30am. the beach is beautiful and the water warm but watch for the red flags. the vendors cant come up onto to property but they comb the beachs. you will have a great time!

  • Liked — size & clean was great but the beach and view were fantastic
  • Disliked — too far from food and very noisy

“The Best Kept Secret in Mazatlan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 May 2005
24
people found this review helpful

This hotel is the best kept secret in Mazatlan. The service is excellent. People will do all they can to assist you. The rooms are very large, CLEAN and comfortable. Plenty of hot water. There are 2 pools here and another great hot pool next door that is owned by the same owners. There is a coffee shop here and one of the best meals in Mazatlan next door plus there are 3 restaurants within a 20 minute walk - 5 - 10 and 20.

The bus service is incredible - 4 pesos to Mid town with the Ceritos bus or 8 pesos to downtown with the Sabato Centro bus. The beach is quiet and as nice as any of the fancy hotel beaches we have seen in all Mazatlan.

I don t know what to tell you - if you want something home like not to fancy plush, quiet and honest - this is it. If you expect the Sheraton - try the El Cid at $400 a night.

P.S. if you take the bus to Mid town - have them drop you off just past the Dairy Queen - there you will find the Broadway Restaurant with Live Jazz on weekends and just behind it - towards the beach - what they call the Golden Zone - later - ask the Sabato Centro Bus to drop you off near the high divers - you ll understand when you get there - great sunsets etc...
and accross the street - ask for Canucks Restaurant - Live music nighlty and Jazz Jams on Monday nights.
