My fiance and I stayed at Azteca the end of March. It was a nice little hotel for the price. Just as everyone is saying. Very close to the beach and many restaurants which made it very convenient. The rooms were clean but nothing special. Yet, what can you expect for around $60 a night! We like to travel on a budget and spend time checking out the city and the beach so the hotel doesn't really matter to us just as long as we have a hot shower and a clean bed! The pool and hot tub were nice. There was an on site bar and restaurant that was also nice. The staff at times wasn't very responsive which to me was the only down side. That and the fact that our room was on the first floor facing the pool and unfortunatly waking up to the pool crew every morning at 6 am was somewhat irriating! Also, our toilet broke and the staff wasn't all that quick to respond to fixing the problem. However, if we ever went back to Mazatlan we would stay here again. You just can't beat the price!

My sister and I stayed at Azteca Inn in the beginning if January 2007. It was our second time staying there and we absolutely love it. It is across the street from the beach, but for the price you can't beat it. We don't spend a lot of time in our rooms so we are not to picky, but the rooms are clean and the staff is great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to take a trip on a budget. My favorite part about this place is that it is close to everything we want to do. We could walk almost everywhere! We love the night life in Mazatlan and this place is close to all of action.

“Azteca Inn is a Great Value”

My cousin and I stayed three nights here in March. Great location and facilities. The rooms, pool, and hot tub were clean. The onsite restaurant was inexpensive and good. It served breakfast, lunch and dinner. The sports bar was fun. Easy beach access was across the street. This is an outstanding value in the middle of the Golden Zone. This is a nice off beach motel style destination.

“Azteca - Clean & Comfy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2007

We stayed at the Azteca for our last night in Mazatlan moving from downtown. The Azteca is in a great location for restaurants and little shops and you are across the street from the beach which you can access from the hotel across the street.

This hotel is a motel style place with rooms surrounding the pool or parking lot and I think 3 floors. Our room was on the 2nd floor facing the pool. This hotel is very clean. It was the first thing I noticed when going in that it was VERY clean. It was nice. The room itself was basic - 2 double beds with a dresser with a tv & cable. There was a closet for hanging clothes. The bathroom had a shower only that was a bit different as it had a partial wall and then a half shower door so you could see into the bathroom.

The beds were firm, but not horrible. The pool was small, but not teeny and it had a jacuzzi. I didn't notice the sound of a pool pump like others were saying to be loud. The one negative was that you could hear the others in their rooms because of how they faced outward and even the bathroom was facing the walkway.

I didn't use the bar or restaurant, but it looked like many were. All in all I felt for less than $60 per night this was a good value.
