“great place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

i'm currently at the hotel now, love the location. Short walk to the market, cathedral, light house, cliff divers. It is a little noisey on the ocean view side, but the breeze and the view is worth it, lots of street noise if your a light sleeper. friendly staff, and the guys down in the shrimp bucket are great.. would definatly stay here again...

“Good location, everything else average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

Good choice in Mazatlan if you want to be near the old town. Pay the extra for a room with a sea view and you are likely to get a view of an amazing sunset. The rooms are basic, but clean. Not the sort of place you would probably want to be for a week, but is fine for one or two nights.

“great hotel for a small price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2011

Stayed in Feb of 2010. Hotel was super clean and most fantastic location if you want to be in Mexico and not the tourist zone. Balconies have the most awesome view of the ocean and sunset. Street right below the balcony, but only noise at night was the waves crashing on the beach that we could hear through our OPEN windows. Rooms outdated but very clean and comfortable. Everyone was nice and helpful. When we go again, we will not stay anywhere else. LOCATION , CLEANLINESS, AND PRICE cant be beat.

Room Tip: You must have an oceanview room. Dont settle for a courtyard view. It is not worth it.

“Nice, inexpesive, clean and on a great stretch of beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

Stayed 6 nights this past week and am I glad I chose La Siesta. First off, this is not a 5 star, luxury hotel...if that is what you are expecting then you should look elsewhere. If what you are looking for is a good basic, clean room in a great part of town then you can't go wrong with this hotel. I spent most of my time on the balcony (make sure you ask for ocean view...it's a couple $ more per night but worth it) wonderful sunsets and a nice breeze for enjoying a few cold ones. The rooms are basic....2 beds, quite firm but good for me, s,all t.v. with a dozen or so english channels plus many more in spanish. a/c works fine, shower only, desk and chair. Maid service was great. Hotel does not have an elevator but is only 3 stories tall so keep that in mind. Front desk was helpful and english was not a problem. The area around the hotel (centro) is wonderful for walking around and lots of little restaurants and pubs within a few blocks, The beach across the street is really nice and the malecon is right out the front door if you feel like going for a walk. Free wifi that works very well. I would not hesitate to book at La Siesta next time I visit Mazatlan.
