Don't believe the scary stories about Mazatlan. Security was not an issue. City is laid back, people are friendly and weather is great. Police presence is very low-key. Never once during our week long trip did we feel the least bit threatened.

El Cid Marina was very nice. Accomodations are great. The beach is wonderful. Jorge, Ramon, Juan Carlos and the remainder of the staff are warm, friendly and very accomodating. El Cid is a little bit away dfrom main commercial area, but their free shuttle will put you in the middle of a nice commercial area. Danny at the La Concha restaurant was a great waiter. I recommend hopping the shuttle and having breakfast beachside at the La Concha restaurant.

We had the most amazing experience at the Marina. The service was absolutely wonderful in everyway. It was the employees of El Cid who made my trip all the worthwhile. The hospitality was incredible and I will miss all the famailiar faces. The Bellboys were especially of importance to me. Their presence was outstanding in everyway and I will miss each and everyone of them...most of all, Israel, Jesus, Jose Roman, Juan, Rafael and Edgar. Love you all and miss you! You are all the best!

This was by far our greatest vacation at the El Cid. We have become very close to the staff. The are incredible. Special cudos to the staff at the Calypso, our very good friend Miguel at the Calypso,Jose Ramon the bellman, Fidel and his entire staff a the Laguana Pool, the restaurant staff, Victoria, Fransisco, Cesar, Edy and of course Juan. We met Jorge this year. Thank you for making my husband's birthday so fantastic. Everyone should stay at the El Cid Marina. What a fantastic expreience. We will be back again next year.

We enjoyed our two week stay at the Marina very much. Quality of the accommodations and staff were wonderful .The heated pool was really appreciated , especially during the few cooler days we experienced in January. Mazatlan is a very interesting area of Mexico. We explored with our taxi driver or on the green bus, knowing we had a comfortable " home away from home" to come back to.
One suggestion...if you have extra people in your unit ,avoid the pull out sofa beds and use the built in sofa. Much more comfortable.
