“Nice place. Less than perfect location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2010

As other reviewers have mentioned, this place has an odd location--away from the party scene and away from the centro histórico.

That said, I definitely enjoyed my night here. The rooms were very, very comfortable. The fitness center is cool and the pool is lovely (salt water, I believe).

We stayed here one night for under $80 but came back in July and the price was more like $98 so we stayed elsewhere. It looked like they were doing some sort of all inclusive deal in July, which makes me wonder if it could get really rowdy.

“Great weekday location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 March 2010

just got back from week long trip. Hotel is located along the main boulevard and perfect for ocean watching and walking, pool was very nice. Hotel was clean and staff was very friendly and helpful, restaurant was good (locals were patrons too). We upgraded to a room with a big balcony and it was worth the money.
Issue was the other guests at hotel, mostly mexicans that insist on partying to 4 am, yelling and playing music at brain-deadening volumes. Great during mon-thursday, but weekends were LOUD!! Take earplugs!
We would go again, but only during weekdays.

“quiet, away from the action. not for everybody”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2010

brand new hotel. visually pleasant. small but comfortable rooms. on playa norte (between the Zona Dorada and the old town). sort of far from the action on a non-descrptive strip. perfect for people who want to be in a quiet area but not for those who are looking for nightlife or prefer the historic old town (50 pesos ride to the Centro Historico). restaurant ME (at the foot of the hotel) is great and one of the best quality price ratio in Mazatlan. I still prefer staying at Olas Altas myself. Beach, cafes, regulars, Centro Historic all in 3 blocks radius !

“great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2009

I stayed at this hotel and had a very good experience. It is brand new, very clean and quiet. I enjoyed the location and found it easy to walk or take buses/taxis around town. the beach was wonderful, just across the street, typically empty. The pool was also great, but it would quickly get small if the hotel was full. Overall, I would definately stay here and recommend it to others. However, if you are looking for a big resort type experience with all the bells and whistles, i.e., concierge, room service, look elsewhere.

“It's a new hotel that needs help with top rate service and has a bad location.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2009

We stayed for a week over Christmas and we were happy with the size and quality of the rooms and the overall hotel. The workout room is filled with new equipment. The restaurant is also good. However the small things were lacking when it came to the room and the service. For instance, at the hotel they would not exchange any US $ over $20. There was NO SPA nor was there a concierge or any type of activity information available in the lobby or in the rooms. In the rooms there was no information book to explain the layout of the hotel, or how to make a call, or where the ice machines were located, etc. One daily perk is two free bottles of water, but after the first day you have to ask for them as they will not leave them automatically. The doors to the rooms are very heavy so you hear your neighbors coming and going at all hours as the door slams shut behind them. The location is in between Old Town Mazatlan and the Golden Zone making a long walk to get to either place so you have to take a cab everywhere you go from this location. Not many restuarants or acitivities near the hotel and the beach is across 4 lanes of busy roads. The biggest PLUS was the great outdoor patio we had with our jacuzzi suite! The jacuzzi is on the patio and is fabulous to use at night. The patio was also great to have breakfast in the mornings while looking at the ocean or to lay out in the afternoon sun when the pool is full. (The pool area only has 8 chairs, 4 umbrellas, no restuarant and no phone to call for restuarant service and was always full.)
